does M seem incomplete?

been reading the Time article about ayu and I noticed an interesting comment about "M"... i found it interesting coz I found a rumored tracklist to one of her albums that had "M II" as a song, kinda like "p.s. II" i guess

well obviously there's no M part II or ever will be so just wanted to know what you guys thought... does M sound or seem incomplete to you? i know, sorry bout the weird question

me too, I don't find it incomplete at all but it would be interesting if it was indeed incomplete and Ayu had planned on releasing M II

The melody of "M" is very simple and somewhat short/rough. I don't think it would've been such a success if it was sung by any other artist. I also think that the arragers did a truly amazing job on it. I can see how it might sound "incomplete" to some. I saw the commet a while back, but I don't argee with it, "M" is one of the most wonderful songs I've ever heard, although it leaves a feeling of unease rather than completion.

I think yeah, that's what she wants to leave on you. She wants the feeling of unease to stay, becuase she herself is uneasy in this song. If it sounded "complete", her purpose would have to be worked at harder to understand.

I'm sure its the ending of the song that bugs people as its not a chorus. The verse ending leaves a sense of sadness rather than joy. But I think thats what she wants us to feel.

I've never thought about it!
I have to listen to it again.
That would be cool/interesting if there was a "sequal" to M.

Not incomplete, IMO.
But it does have that feel like she felt like she wanted to say more about the theory of the song.
an "M II" would be great, IMO also.
Maybe her next album?

It was completed in 2003, wasn't it? M - HALs progress from A BALLADS? Actually, from memory I thought it was M, 2003 rebirth, but it was a progress, so I guess not actually. But it is actually the A BALLADS version which is played through concerts night I think.

M does feel a bit empty to be. I hate songs were the melody is totally carried thought the vocals with no instrumentals behind it. Because of this, I totally understood what Ayu ment by uncomplete, despite that we were talking about different things. This problem to me is most horrid in Utada's sakura DROPS if you want to know what I'm talking about

I think M is perfect as it is. The sense of "incompletion" if you will, is actually what makes the song complete, if you get what I mean.

hey guys... thanks for the replies so far

just to answer someone's question... it was the Time article about ayu (the issue with ayu on the cover) that commented that M seemed incomplete

I don't have A ballads... but is the M (a ballads version) really the version she uses in her recent concerts?
