[article] BoA Releases Fourth Chart-Topping Album in Japan
Quote:
The 20-year-old K-pop sensation BoA has again claimed the top spot in Japan’s Oricon music charts with her new album “Outgrow.” Her fourth, it was released on Feb. 15 and made it immediately to the top of the daily charts and thence to the top of the weekly charts as well. Since her debut with “Listen to My Heart” in 2002, which she rapidly followed with “Valenti” and “Love & Honesty,” she has had four straight chart-toppers in Japan, not counting her best-of album “Best of Soul.”
Oricon says after Ayumi Hamasaki, who had seven straight albums at the top, BoA ranks second among women artists tied with Misia, Mai Kuraki and Namie Amuro. With male singers included, BoA stands at no. 5. The new album contains the hit singles “Do the Motion,” “Make a Secret” and “Everlasting” and new songs like the title track and “Cosmic Eyes.” The album will be released in Korea on Wednesday.
