I read someone's post about recommending that Ayu take a break or something as she's been working so hard lately.. It inspired me to start this thread.. Can I just say, with no disrespect to anyone on ahs, but some of the things I want to discuss may offend some of the members here, especially the younger ones. I’m not actively trying to cause problems or anything like that, but this is a forum, and I just want to express my ideas. I’d therefore appreciate it if a certain level of maturity could be upheld or whatever.

Has it ever crossed any of your minds that Ayu is taking a load of drugs in her day-to-day life? She has literally never stopped working since she released “poker face”.. She’s released 29 singles, 7 albums, 18 remix singles, 13 remix albums, 15 DVDs, 11 vhs, over 40 vinyl, acted as spokesperson for and endorsing countless products, launched her own fashion range, done 4 nationwide tours, and is now about to embark on yet another one… She works herself to death, I think it’s quite surprising that she hasn’t had a public nervous breakdown or something. Which leads me to believe she’s taking a hell of a lot of drugs..

Ayu must be on speed or something during the day, running around doing promotional stuff for Morinaga or Tu-Ka, getting her photos taken then choosing herself the ones she wishes to use, then shooting off (and up?) to do a Visée CM, followed by whatever else. She’s been buzzing all day, then ushered into some hotel room where a vaporiser’s waiting for her.. She gets into bed and takes a massive toke on some white widow, which knocks her out for a few hours, the next thing she knows it she’s being woken up, someone hands her a 10,000yen note and helps her snort some pink doves to get the next day started.

She blatantly smokes weed, releasing a range of MTRL clothing with the cannabis leaf emblazoned across it, and wasn’t she pictured with a joint in her hand? Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if she smokes crack or has to shoot up before she performs at her concerts and stuff…

And I hadn’t really thought about it ‘til the other day, but I was discussing with a fellow member here about how everyone always complains about how Avex is the tyrant who forces Ayu to release so many products and things.. What if it’s the other way around? Ayu is basically Avex, so what if it’s really her, constantly making them churn out remix albums and re-released singles, just so she can pay for her crack habbit..

She didn’t grow up with a father figure in her life, maybe she just walked all over her mother and has had her own way since she was a child. She hasn’t really had a normal childhood either, starring in doramas and movies at a young age, and even doing all that “NOTHING FROM NOTHING” stuff, now it’s all ended up where she can’t start her day without gumming some base…

I appreciate that not everyone here will view what I have to say with an open mind. The very mention of the word drugs will no doubt get the majority of you all to start laying into me or whatever. And I'm not trying to bring her down or anything like that, I'm actually a massive fan, but nothing like this has ever really been brought up before, so I’d be interested to see how fellow Ayu fans feel about this pressing issue…

Firstly, I respect your bravery for posting something like this as i'm almost certain that there may be some form of dispute over this. but i'm going to look at this in a mature way.

Right, well I'm going to make my opinion clear straight away. This is not just because Ayu is my favourite singer, but i honestly don't think that Ayu takes any illegal drugs. None at all. It's possible that she may take something that's legal to help her keep going and stuff though.

I can see where you get your ideas though as Ayu has barely stopped working since her debut, yet she manages to keep on top of all of this. However, I'm not one of the "Evil tyrant Avex" people, but neither do I think that Ayu is the one who's forcing all of this.

In reference to your idea of Ayu walking all over her mom, I have to disagree again. After reading the 'Rocking on Japan' interview, you may think differently aswell, that's if you haven't already read the translation.

Well anyway, I'm not here to argue, so please count my opinion as valid.

Hi ElmStreet and welcome to AHS. You must've known that you'd get some feedback on this post, and although you may have not meant it to sound mean, to me, I'm kind of shocked at reading this from someone who says he's a fan. Now I won't go "all out" if that's what you're thinking, but to say that she takes drugs and

sounds quite rude to me. Although yo did state "Thory" as the title here, it seems so untrue to me. Of course, whenever people do drugs and whatnot, the signs can be noticable, such as restlessness, a worn-down or tired look, bouts of anger, and other related symptoms. As of yet, I haven't seen Ayumi show any of these, and contrary to the idea that Ayu attacked someone in China (which is also a rumor), Ayu seems to be a pretty peaceful person. Sure... she's beein doing tour after tour, releasing more CDs than many American artists combined, and even has her own talk show, but until I see Ayu staggering at a live concert, swearing at the audience, or anything else, I'll have to disapprove your idea. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions, and I'm not saying "you're wrong! case closed!", but without solid facts of "drugs" found at Ayu's place or any physical signs, this topic will remain just that.. a theory.

hmmmm i think when it comes to her album/single/remix releases, i really dont think she has to put all that much work into as, i mean she does right the songs and may help to produce or whatnot, but i think remixes are entirely done w/out her ^^; and its possible bulmasman said that she takes legal drugs, but i think ayu has a lil control in her life....i mean she wouldnt have started a tv show right?why bother buying a home if your not going to live in it? how is it possible to keep a relationship like she has (and planning to get married) if she is so so busy? im sure we are just vewing her throught the public eyes of the media, and never get to see the times she DOES relax. I personally think she likes to keep busy, she has a goal, and she is working hard till her timing is up in the industry--i think she chose the life she wanted...everything she does, she knows how it will effect herself ^^;......hmmmmm

Don't you think it's possible that Ayu could just be running on her own steam for this? I don't want to believe that Ayu is taking drugs. If she were to take even half of what you said, she probably would have suffered some sort of heart attack or defect or serious weight loss (she only weighs 100 lbs, after all. I seriously doubt her small frame could take so much of that crap for so long). And she also probably would have gone through some serious state of depression, which her songs would have reflected.

As for the marijuana clothing, someone stated that that is just a fashion icon in Japan, as it is in the US. It doesn't mean that Ayu smokes it. Ayu is a trend setter - she follows the fashion code rule, so naturally she would incorporate styles that are currently popular.

As for her releases, granted they are amazing. But as Ayu has stated herself, she's "a product" and a very popular one. Avex has and will continue to milk her for everything she's worth, until she's completely lost her popularity. It makes me wonder how she does it, too, but I've never considered drugs. I just can't imagine it. Illegal drugs eat up a person, inside and out. There's no way Ayu could look as beautiful and calm at her concerts if she was constantly getting high. I won't believe it until I see some proof, so I don't consider it.

It's an interesting topic to broach, however, I feel that your portrayal of how she gets through the day is really harsh.

Ayu releases many albums, so the obvious assumption is that she's a psycho crack addict? That's RIDICULOUS! That's the craziest thing I've ever heard!

You don't have any facts to back this up. There is cannabis leaf on a MTRLG shirt, so that automatically means that is Ayu smokes pot? NO! I'm sure she is not the only person who designs clothes for MTRLG, and the Japanese put all kinds of crazy stuff on T-Shirt just because it's "cool." For example, they'll put English phrases on stuff even if they don't understand what it means. And many times they'll put on English that says very terrible things or it's totally incorrect grammar. They do this 'cause English is "cool." You cannot say that Ayu smokes pot for that reason. That's jumping to conclusions.

Have you ever heard of caffeine? There are ways to get energy without being a crazed drug addict.

These assumptions are completely ridiculous. Believe them if you like, but this is totally bashing Ayu. I don't care if you are a fan or not, this is disrespectful!

Don't you think that by now, people would be able to see the effects of the drugs on her, just the look in her eyes would be enough to tell. I'm pretty sure makeup can't hide that type of thing. Elmstreet, are you on drugs? Thats my opinion right there. If Ayumi was on drugs, I think SOMEONE would notice in her 24/7 schedule that you produced above. Yes, she is constantly working, pushing herself around. What makes you think she has time to do drugs, get any, or do them in privacy? Get real, if she did drugs, MANY people would know. AND, the chinese papers would've said something by now. I rest my case.
