Summary & translation:
There are different kinds of music today, Ayu's music is mainly pop. Ayu is not just about her music, but also her image etc etc that attracts her fans.

Besides, pop music appears in every part of the world from east to west.

Ayu's new album "A Ballad" is actually a very innovative try for ayu to produce sth very differently, like "A Song for XX", is a very good remake

Ayu is also very popular among japanese karaoke, those who've never been there and dont' understand ayu's song shouldn't just criticize others if you dont' understand. you should go and explore why others are so successful

(note: i like the last point the best...so true!!!)

The A Song For XX remake kicks ass.

And I agree with the last point. No one really understands why I like Ayumi. I usually get "do you even understand it?"

My usual responses to the f'skers are:
1) "Hey, I'm Asian, what did you expect?"
2) "Music is universal, you f'sker!"

I tend to use the second one heavily

Its a shame many of the people who live here in the united states are so closed minded to such things.
Not all of us are like that though

Good to hear, good to hear!

Ignorance is definitely not bliss...it's just something that causes people to say curt things about stuff they know nothing about. When people ask "Why do you listen to music you can't understand?" I say that the singer's voice becomes like another instrument. And Ayu's voice is certainly one of the most beautiful instruments I've ever heard!

Hey, that is a pretty elequent way to verbalize that. I have thought similar about ayus voice but that is a good description.
