Just curious. Mine would be upbeat songs followed by ballads. :]

^ Same here usually, but other times it depends on the artist.

It really depends on the artist. Some artists can practically only sing one type (i.e. Yuna Ito is only good at ballads), but ultimately I think up-tempo songs are more easy to be appealing. They're easier to do, especially for an artist with limited vocals. I think that's why I hate to see Chinese singers sing a ton of ballads, since many of them aren't that vocally talented and are only good at up-tempo/dance tracks.

If you're talking about Jolin Tsai I know how you feel.

Down tempo, not necessarily ballads. Slow songs, that are NOT R&B jams, I prefer dark ambient, freak folk, alternative, etc... But yeah, I can listen to slow or fast music, but my favorite is always slow, dark and creepy music

uptempo!

i'm pretty picky about ballads... i have to really love the lyrics to love the song... most are too sappy for me.

There are some lovely ballads or mid-tempo songs, but most of my favourites are uptempo.

I prefer uptempo and mid-tempo songs. When I listen to ballads, I have to be in the mood to listen to them...which isn't all the time. Lol.
