Welcome to the First Official NEWS Thread ~ !
NEWS is a Johnny's Entertainment group formed in 2003. The original group was comprised of nine young boy handpicked from different smaller groups. However their member count was reduced by one before the release of the second (yet debut) single. Then NEWS once again lost members in May 2006 due to two underage drinking allegations. The group returned to the spotlight at the end of the year as a six member group.

Tomohisa Yamashita

~Currently 22 years old
~Leader of NEWS
~Known as YamaP or Yamapi which is short for Yamashita Pink, a nickname given to him by his idol Hideaki Takizawa
~He is known for his numerous popular dramas ... INCLUDING "STAND UP!" WITH NINO!!!!
~He is very prompt and serious with his work as the group's leader
~Released a very successful single "Seishun Amigo" with KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi for their drama "Nobuta wo Produce"

錦戸亮
Ryo Nishikido

~Currently 23 years old
~Also in the popular JE group, Kanjani8
~Among his sempai, Ryo meets up with Jun Matsumoto most
~He is a fan of Leah Dizon
~He donated some of his earnings from the drama he starred in, "1 Liter of Tears", to the research for the cure of Spinocerebellar Degeneration, Aya Kito's disease in "1 Liter of Tears"

Takahisa Masuda

~Currently 21 years old
~Masu is a neat freak due to his OCD
~He is scared of dogs because he was once chased by a dog when he was little. He is also scared of bugs
~He's always late
~Promoted JE internationally with Tego in the temporary unit, Tegomass.

手越祐也
Yuya Tegoshi

~Currently 20 years old
~He idolized Kimura Takuya of SMAP
~He has acrophobia, because he got stuck at a 4th floor of an apartment and somehow he needed to jump off. He landed safely but from then on, he got scared of heights
~He is double jointed
~Tegoshi's locker is like a girl's because it has a lot of cute stuff in it, perfume, mirror and pictures of NEWS, TegoMassu, Koichi Senpai and it is very neat and colorfully arranged

加藤成亮
Shigeaki Kato

~Currently 20 years old
~Shige is afraid of caterpillars or any creepy crawly creature like it
~He goals to be fluent in English and watches and listens to Western Music all the time
~He writes a lot of stories and poems
~Shige talks fast and has a "Trigger Finger" for the cellphone. He texts back the fastest and answers the fastest.

小山慶一郎
Keiichiro Koyama

~Currently 23 years old
~His home is a Ramen Shop that he runs with his mom on his off days
~He graduated from Meiji University Majoring in Asian Studies
~He spoils his nephew a lot. He buys him toys and clothes all the time, so is that why he is called a "Foolish Uncle"
~He has the bad habit of not replying to phone calls or e-mails and worries everyone
~He takes the role of the oldest brother in NEWS making sure everyone is healthy and alright

I got their new album yesterday. <3 I LOVE "code". It's like so emotional... So far I'm totally hooked on "code" and "Ai nante". The booklet's cute, too. I like how everyone holds a feather in their hands, while Masuda and Nishikido hold two - for Kusano and Uchi. That really touched me... ~.~
"weeeek"s a great single. I love the titlesong and "Why".

The whole pacific album was amazing as was weeeeks ^^

@Luv~Venus~ -It happened with KAT-TUN's new releases earlier this year also, their single sold more than the album they released right about the same time (Maybe it was the same day...I don't remember XD) It is a little strange lol ^^

Ai Nante has really sad but beautiful lyrics...I really like that track ~~
Gomen ne Juliet is another one I really like...especially the music of it gets stuck in my head a lot

Mehh, finally a NEWS thread. LMAO.

Let's see, Massu's my favorite member of the group. pacific album wasn't that nice IMO. touch was much better. Maybe because I like them better when they were 8 in a group. But mehh, they have more teamwork now. And much more closer.

AND TEGOMASS! LOL. (Random <.< >.>)

Massu is just too cute. I love him. He likes like this kid in my school who's dating this girl who's 3 feet shorter than him. Plus his voice is interest.

Mehh, no offence KAT-TUN fans, but in terms of voice quality, NEWS is better but Johnny is giving more publicity to KAT-TUN. How unfair.

^ Shhh, it's okay. I like KAT-TUN, but the reason I'm not crazy into them is because their voices aren't that good. They're hot though. NEWS and my ARASHI have nice voices. Not saying that KAT-TUN doesn't though... -hides-
