who can replace Ayu?

ok sorry if i offend some diehard ayu fans, bt may i ask which singers do u all think can overtake ayu in the future? i mean every singers will slowly become less popular as it is common in the entertainment world. my vote goes to mika nakashima as she gt tat X-factor n she is becoming a diva in jpn (if i m nt wrong)

It'd be easy to say noone, but I don't think that's realistic. Of course I would love to see Ayu carry on til 65+ or something, but she probibly won't. But I don't know who can 'replace' her. For me, noone can. Ayu is special. But there probably will be a new Ayu-ish girl when Ayu decides to call it a day, although I have no clue who that might be. None of the current stars though...

aaa...i must say no one...cuz for me i idolised her as herself...and if there's any ayu-like girl...maybe i dun idolised her...cuz it's just a mere copy...

but i may be idolised other artists if they have the quality i look for as an idol and as themselves...

cuz i hav never idol an artist as ayu before in my whole life...and i think it's hard for me to find another but it's not impossible...

as for the japan market and the chart ranking i dunno...as for huge influence as ayu(fashion, style and persona) i think it could take a while before any such artist will emerge...cuz to be a successful artist u have to target your fans and listener, u may be a mainstream one but it wont last long enough as ayu...u have to be unique yet could influence people ...first with your music then yourselves...

this is my current opinion...

For us, the fans, there will never be another Ayu, logically. But for the music industry itself there will be, as for non-fans.

It has always been like that and it WILL always be like that...

I'd say no one can replace Ayu, although there will be new jpop queens. During the time I've followed jpop, I've seen 3 jpop queens (Amuro Namie, Utada Hikaru, Ayu), and they're all different in their own unique ways. There may be singers that look like Ayu and sing like her, but I don't think there will be another singer who has a personality like Ayu

You know what, when I read all of your message, I got my tears. Yup, no one can replace her even in the hell. She's my queen forever. And in J-POP competition, may be she will lose her charisma someday, but in every heart of her fans, she will be memorized til died.

Of course a younger singer will eclipse Ayu's popularity someday. Some people say it will be BoA but I don't think she can do it. I don't see anyone on the scene right now who compares to Ayu.

Of course no one will replace Ayu for us. As the j-pop queen yes! And im afraid it will most likely come within a couple of years. Right now i see no real candidates to pose a threat but ill pose the most likely ones at the moment.

BoA- maybe she'll make a bigger wave when one of the two queens have lost their status.

Mai Kuraki- I see nothing but continued succes for her, she been gaining popularuty lately and you can tell by the rapid releases. Anywho, i still thik her songs are boring.

Mika Nakashima- Still new to her but i realy liked her latest single LOVE ADDICT. She's pretty and all, a decent singer, but her persona seems very flat.

Asuka Hayashi- This girl can SING! but her music sounds like she's aiming for a more mature audience than Ayu.

namie Amuro- could make a comeback bt most likely not.

Someone really needs the diversity of Ayu, if anyone is going to be anywhere as near as popular as her... the one who appeals to many types of audiences...

No-one will replace her...I mean for me. She'll always be the queen of J-Pop in my mind. Of course some other singer will step up and replace Ayu when she's had enough of it.
I'lla still be listerning to her music when I'm into my 30's..Which is along way away since I'm just 18.

Yep there's still not anyone. Ayu has the special touch of bringing diversity to her music and always with good quality. I don't usually have to force myself to like most of her songs while that happens with almost any other artist. The songs from Ayu that I like the least, I still can listen to them and really enjoy but the songs I like the least from other artists are often horrible so even forcing myself to like them will not help at all. It means Ayu ALWAYS has songs with a nice tune and a good quality. There's no Ayu song under avex label that I hate. BoA wouldn't really substitute Ayu...she has got the beat tand she can dance pretty good but I still admire Ayu because Ayu songs have a lot more "feeling" to them...it's like they touch your soul...I can't even understand the lyrics but just by the way the song plays you can get that "feeling" and keep imagining lots of things. I'm often looking for new artists and although I managed to find some super good bands/artists they still lack the diversity+feeling that Ayu puts in her songs.

I think that in our life, no one will be able to replace Ayu because she has this unique place in our hearts But When were old and with kids, there will be another "Ayu" in their lives. Of course, she'll probably be different from Ayumi, but she'll most likely have the same impact that Ayu has had on us. Maybe the next superstar isn't even born yet
