Do you know who reports a thread?
I guess this is more directed towards the mods; but just out of curiosity, when you report a thread for whatever reason do the mods know who reported it, or do they just get a anonymous message? I haven't ever reported anything and there's nothing I want to report at the moment, but just for future reference.

The staff knows who reported it. However, the person who reported it will not always get an reply, unless the answer is really needed.
Also sometimes a reported post or user will just get monitored, so that if nothing has been done after you've reported a thread, it is probably because the staff in a consensus, just decided to watch the situation closely.

If anyone wants to report something anonymously the best you can do is to send a PM to one of the staff members, but ask them to keep it confidential. I'm sure that whichever moderator you PM they won't disclose the identity of the initiate reporting the issue.

The mods know who reported a thread/post whatever, and usually you describe why.
I think that the mods usually keep it confidential anyway, do they not? I don't remember any situation where a mod gave away specific names to any members. They're confidential at all times in that way I think.
