For the first time in a long time..
For the first time in a long time I walked into a normal American CD store, and walked out with an album in hand. God knows how long it's been, at least a year, but I finally found an album which I could consider worthy of my $13.99.
"What did you get?", you ask. "What possibly could have been worth the drive over to the store, the gas used, the effort of getting dressed and bathing? Which album was worthy enough to justify the time, effort and money???" The answer: Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" Not technically American. British, actually. But it was published, printed, and released in America. It did win a grammy. That counts for me. I'll consider it a hybrid, whatever. Mostly British, but available and popular in America. I haven't listened to it all yet, but there are three really good songs I heard prior to my purchase: "Politik", "The Scientist", and "Clocks". Three very good songs. I've heard nothing but good things about this album. I haven't listened to it all yet, but right now my complaint is that there are only 11 tracks. But hey, quality over quantity any day, so that may not matter in the end. So I'm off to listen... Ashley |
