Play Ball is a ballad? o_O. I thought it was more of a mid-tempo/upbeat song.

My favorites are First Love and FINAL DISTANCE, but I ultimately picked First Love because of how well it's resonated with listeners. Otherwise, it's a tie for me.

anyway, i NEED to pick FINAL DISTANCE. now that will forever be my favorite ballad by utada.

btw, i never really thought "play ball" was a ballad?

edit: i just remembered! FINAL DISTANCE was also my first ballad i ever heard from utada. memories...

Where is "Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro"? That's my favorite, but since it's not on her (and yet "Play Ball" is?!) I'm going with "FINAL DISTANCE".

For me it was a hard decision between For You and Stay Gold. I chose the latter because Stay Gold made me cry when I heard it first time. And I love that kind of R&B anyway, so... <3

Another Chance, time will tell, and Play Ball are all too uptempo to be considered ballads. I would've chosen Play Ball, but since I do not think that is an actual ballad, I'll go with FINAL DISTANCE, although First Love and For You are close behind.
