Do you miss Ayu's expensive-looking PVs?

Well to answer the question, yes, a lot.

Although her pvs nowadays are still nice, i just cant help but to think that her budget for pvs are severely cut off. Not that i prefer big budget pvs that have no sense than pvs with less cost but speak directly to your mind (like Sweet Season or don't look back), i just wish to see her do fairyland/mnw kind of pvs again.

not necessarily a million dollar pv, just a pv that speaks "hey, im still the empress of pop. and only i can do pvs like these" or something alone those lines lol.

fine i admit, ayu made materialistic, pv-wise.

No, because she has filmed a lot of them overseas lately, which explains why they do not look very 'expensive'.

Her best videos have always been either in studios or in enclosed areas.

I wonder just what we will get with Pray, tbh.

fairyland was probably up there because of the sheer scale of things. They basically filmed all over that island. It also helped that Wataru Takeishi was directing. He is a master.

And those Kouki Tange PVs were done in studios.

The only expensive PV among those is fairyland... The others most likely costed as much as her pvs costs nowadays...

I don't think the new PVs are less expensive. Just lack of creativity
I guess she wanted to look natural but it ruined songs like "wake me up" for me. That song has so much more substance than the PV

I do not think that it matters if a PV is expensive or not. Even a cheap PV can be good.

Its not only about budget, its also about creativity, but come on you just have to compare Mirrorcle World's budget to feel the love's budget

Well, even a PV filmed in a studio can be beautiful looking with some green screen and special effects. So, I'd just say I miss beautiful PVs to look at where Ayu is at her best, that's all.

For example a PV like Evolution looks beautiful even though there's nothing spectacular when you think about it.

yea i kinda miss it, i miss PVs which contain meanings behind them where we could take guesses/interpretations of what are they all about, the connection to the songs lyrics.

i think what she lacks is creativity. need more storylines on PVs.

The bolded part

I miss creative PV's where lots of things happens in a short time.

I'd love to see a PV of 10 min for a 5 min song. I like when the song ends and you can hear noise of the enviroment, even a dialogue. I liked that in blossom, for example. Ourselves also uses that in the beggining. I don't need actually 10 minutes lol, but I mean longer than the song itself.

Not really, tbh I don't care that much if the pv is expensive or not.
And no. Imo not all her best video came from studio and enclosed place. (Don't) leave me alone is one of the example of meaningless video. Imo

She has a lot of excellent clips though not really lately ... her and her scriptwriter are too much into the theme "love story in LA" since 2010 :/ I prefered when they made strange stories sometime difficult to understand like Walking Proud, Alterna, 1 LOVE, Endless Sorrow, GREEN, Marionette etc... You can make amazing things with nothing but since they always decide to make her clips overseas necessarily much of the budget is allocated for travel expenses (human, material etc ...)

My Favorites are still Walking Proud and Alterna ! The first one makes me sad and the second one is so meaningful and true !

Lol just because there's an explanation as to why they don't look as glam doesn't isn't a reason to not miss the more upscale feeling.

And the fact that something as epic as BoY and alterna are allegedly within the same budget range as the videos being released today is really unacceptable. Ayus PVs used to be like mini mystery movies. They were absurdly entertaining, even if a lot wasn't going on. My friends used to comment how much better they were than American music videos.

She can have a simpler PV like Endless sorrow and that PV still blows most of her recent PVs out of the water.

my name's WOMEN was super expensive too, but I didn't like it that much.
GREEN was also expensive, but it didn't blow me away either.

It's more about the storyline than the budget for me.

Though it was nice for JEWEL, so she can show off how rich she is
