I didn't even know what EMA was, so needed to do some Googeling...
I don't know how the nominees are chosen, but I'm guess I'm not that suprised that Ayu isn't there, but that AKB48 or more popular are not on the list.

 LOL jks She isn't that relevant this year, apart from one hit song (You & Me), and she hasn't been accepting nominations for years now.

I see that the nominated japanese act is EXILE. Could it be that EXILE are more popular than Ayu? Some people even say EXILE sell more records than Ayu does. Even one of Ayus former dancers thought that becoming a EXILE member is much more suitable than backdancing for Ayu.
Nah....the real reason is this: Ayu isn't nominated because the EMA's are in fact in Frankfurt. She would have to fly to Germany, if she wins and she doesn't want to.

Because ayu's team/company nv submit her as an entry for the awards. but even if submit, she might not be in the final list. She didn't want any nominations for award anymore. but if given an award, I think she will still accept it.

I think 2NE1 and BIGBANG should be on the nominee list. They deserve more recognition imo.
I read that Ayu doesn't want any awards because of something that happened with Avex back in 2004 but then I have also read that she wanted to give other artists a chance to get awards instead. What exactly happened? I've always felt so confused. o.O

the EMA is about environmental stuff...
ayumi has never done anything like that so she would never submit to that...

I'm sorry, but I don't really think she deserves to win that category as of right now.
I mean, awards things are usually year by year correct? Other people did better things/are more relevant But whatever lol Funny that you submit yourself to it.
