Shanadoo - Japanese band in Europe

I've seen today on German MTV (or VIVA, whatever) pv of Japanese Shanadoo band. It's great they are on European music market! Have you noticed that band too?

band? That's the second cover of the eurobeat track king kong, ironically eurobeat is originally made in Europe. =P Personally I thin kthey overdo the jpanese thing in that clip. I think HINOI team would make more fuss than this, but that's just my guess though. This seems so.... J-pop for tourists. But it's nice to see someone going abroad.

Are you sure? I've read Eurobeat is how Japanese percive European dance music scene...

OK, I checked in Wikipedia, it originates from Europe but it's mainly popular in Japan.

Most eurobeat is made in Europe. The lyrics may make little more sense than the engrish found in japanese music, but it's mostly grammaticaly correct and there's no strange japanese accent to most of it because it's sung by europeans. If anyone remember whigfield. From the 90's with the hit song saturday night, she used to sing some eurobeat songs under an alias. source However some japanese arrangers have naturally adopted the style, so a lot of eurobeat is made in japan too either by natives or foreigners. Most original eurobeat songs are in english, most with japanese lyrics are wither adaptions or remixes.

IMO the most closely related style to eurobeat is italo-dance (like miko mission and sabrina) and eurodance. Eurobeat use the same synth sound as italo dance, but is a LOT faster and use more hyper themes and melodies. The lyrics are also just as sensical as a lot of italo songs. However over the years, eurobeat has incorporated a lot of different elements into its main sound.

Yup! I hope that in some time Japanese artists become popular in Europe.. It would be awesome! I think many Japanese singers have better, more catchy songs than i.e. Hilary Duff, Beyonce, etc

But I'm guessing most of Eurobeat by popular Japanese acts like AAA, Hinoi Team, Folder 5 has been produced in Japan.
Plus ironically, Eurobeat doesn't seem to be recently popular in Europe, I'd say italo-dance appears a lot more often.

Although I suppose Japanese producers do often base their works on the European originals. There's so much of it sometimes you just can't tell the difference. lol.

I would thin HINOI team is produced in japan, but f.ex. ayu-ro could definetly been produced in italy, as they just need the vocal track to make a remix. I don't think eurobeat has ever been released in europe, at least not a lot of it.

Of course, like you wrote, sometimes there are so many eurobeatish elementes in the music it's hard to tell the difference. =P
