Moments since 2000?

Is this article true? Its posted in the Spanish wikipedia and it intrigued me.

En entrevistas Ayumi ha dicho que "Moments" realmente fue escrita por ella alrededor del año 2000, en el periodo de los lanzamientos de "vogue", "Far away" y "SEASONS", y hay registro de versiones anteriores a la que finalmente fue grabada el 2004 y convertida en single.

It says: In some interviews, Ayumi has said that Moments was griten by her around the year 2000, in the time period that vogue, far Hawai, and SEASONS were released. There are registered(?) versions befote the final one was recorded in 2004 and made into a single.

So what do you guys think?

Supposedly she wrote Moments specifically for the Visee CM that it was supposed to be featured in during 2004, but then the demand was high for a single version so she made it into a single..

Well, but "Moments" was composed by Yukumi Tetsuya, right? And he didn't appear until "Memorial address", which was released in 2003...

wow, so Moments wasn't actually supposed to be a full song, just a clip for a commercial? Or do you mean that Moments was already a full song when initially conceptualized, but she had to release the single at an earlier date because of the high demand for it?

Moments was not a full song at all..

It was only like a clip or w/e and then people on TeamAyu's BBS received it so well, it was made into a single.

Which is why it sounds so different compared to the Visee CM ver.

It's probably not true... but who really knows?

Sometimes artists have songs sitting around for years until they find the right time to record...

That was only composing the music, what they're saying is that Ayu could have written the lyrics for Moments a few years before that.

Interesting, but hard to tell if it's true or not. Ayu probably has other songs written that she might not have recorded yet, so you can't really tell when a song was written, we really only know when songs were released/recorded.

Well, this could be possible, of course. Thanks for making it clear! I somehow interpreted the first post as "given to her", not "written by her".
Maybe this fact (whether true or not) could help interpreting the lyrics of "Moments"... Would be interesting to check out magazine interviews from that time ("Moments" or "MY STORY" release).

I think it's definitely possible that she could have written the lyrics for Moments in 2000 but then not actually made it into a song until 2004. The Moments lyrics can be pretty dark and do remind me of her earlier lyrics.

if moments has dark lyrics, why is it in A Best White? I love moments and the history of this song is so interesting. BTW, when was the Visee CM for Moments released?

I read the lyrics a while ago, but I don't remember them being "dark" per se...

Well, It wouldn´t been so weird. It was was composed to take part in the (miss) understood album, but it appeared in the Secret one, so I think it´s possible that Moments was composed long time ago... I love that song X_X

whatever it is, moments is a great song. in my opinion, it is the first song that showcases her mature singing style.

She probably has alot of song lyrics that haven't been used yet, this wouldn't surprise me. But i'm curious what the information source is for this... We need to translate more ayu interviews

uhh...moments was in the MY STORY album....

and this does sound interesting..but she prolly just wrote the lyrics..maybe for like a song that was supposed to be on duty, but wasn't really suited for the album?

I never believed that Moments was only made for a CM. She hasn't done any other songs that were CM only tracks. I think people started that rumor like they do anytime a song is in a CM but there's no word of a single for it--it's either just for the CM, or an album cut. And it almost always turns out to be a single track.

Yeah, I was never really sure about that either. I've heard it from multiple sources but they all seem to be citing the same piece of information. But I never heard that rumor for "still alone" or "End of the World" or "Naturally", which were put on CMs AGES before the albums came out.
