What If Koda made the Morning Musume audition

have any of you ever wondered what would happen if Kumi Koda actually made the morning musume audition. What would her life be like now? How would she had affected the group? would she be popular before her Secret album?

I think she would have molded the group into a hip hoppish direction and her popularity would just be minor and she would still be a house hold name!

I personally think, she wouldn't have been as eye catching as she is now if she did, because she'd be molded for that image.

With her own contract, she can create her own unique image, and be eye catching as Koda Kumi and not MM.

your right i think Tsunku could kick himself now that she is a super star.

what a dork i guess looks arent everything her talent was the best he seen in the audition but she didnt have the look. But i can see that her style has influenced the HELLO! PROJECT look at what stuff they are wearing now and Maki Goto's new ero kawaii image

She was always too good for them. And besides, her vocals are too earthy for their songs.

If she had made it though, I'm agreeing with xiaou-xijiang, she wouldn't have been as eyecatching. Forced to make way for the other girls.

I think she would've easily been another Kei. Talented in instruments etc, but not pretty or cute enough to compare to the other girls. No way she would've molded the group in any way.

Members of Morning Musume don't really get that big of a say on their careers, and I think she was only influenced through RnB and hip-hop after her first/second album. To be honest she would probably be overlooked compared to the prettier or the cuter girls.

And her voice doesn't fit.

She wouldn't fit into Morning Musume because they all have very cute voices, which Kumi dosen't have. She'd probably just be in the background.

if kuu would got on MM, maki goto would have like 3 best albums and the 12 week singles, and all ayu fans would hate her

yeah, her voice is too deep for MM. ~~and she may be in the background cause she's kinda tall compared to other MM XD~~

She would be like Goto Maki. Because Goto Maki ended up getting a popular career and turned out to be one of the best in H!P.

Koda Kumi woulda stayed in for 2 gens and then Tsunku would realize she was not the MM type and woulda soloed her and made her more popular. If it happened, she wudnt be making so many BEST albums.

If kumi was in morning musume her career today would be nothing.

She would not have shaped morning musume into anything. She would have stuck around for a few generations, then be a 'solo artist' in the H!P ('solo artist' because, frankly, most of them do nothing while still being pretty much 'owned' by tsunku)

Kumi is someone who the stars lined up for her career to take off - verbal gave her a flavor for hip-hop, and avex executives told her to shake her ass. The rest, as they say, is history.

misono'd be selling more records than Koda, that's for sure.

I also think that she probably wouldn't even be the Koda we think of today.
No scandalous videos, no pantsless lives, and so on.

Honestly, I don't think that it's good reasoning to assume that she'd be all "hip hop" in H!P anyway. Hasn't she changed since she debuted anyway?

and come to think of it, what tempt kuu to go for that audition? she SHOULD know that her voice is so not MM!

MM seems very strict when it comes to those girls and image. I just recently started paying attention to them again when i heard Ai Kago, had returned. But someone told me it was Asami not Kago. I think Misono would fit in more than Kuu like you all said. Her look is not as exotic as kuu's was.
