I guess that's kind of true for me. I've been more into Miyavi, Do As Infinity, Maaya, Yoko Kanno and other artists before Ayumi. it'll come back like it always does, but I'm more into her older music than anything new she's putting out now.

Nami Tamaki - I was in love with her first songs but now she's just blah

BoA - Oh how I loved BoA..I loved her first albums a lot but she really disappoint me with videos and songs like Key of Heart, Nanairo no Ashita Brand new beat (this one sounds like she wants to make fun of her fans -.-), Sweet Impact..-_-

Ayumi Hamasaki - Her music sucks now, I prefered the older Ayu even if her real vocals werent good for a real singer, her music was sooo much better and addictive

Mika Nakashima - Her latest singles are good but I am enjoying a lot of other artists and never listen to her

Anna Tsuchiya - I thought she was good but after hearing her latest music I completely changed my mind

Ayaka Hirahara - When I heard her debut single I thought she was going to be one of my fave artists..but her music is sooo boring and has the same style -_-

Every Little Thing - They used to make addictive songs but in the end their latest music sucks.

Jrock - In general..those old bands were sooo good while now the 90% of new Jrock bands are only bad imitation of older ones..

Koda Kumi - OMG. She needs to slow down and listen to her music. Best~second session~ was pretty all that she had going for her, but the 20,000 singles she decided to release in the following months pretty much lost my attention. I just kept asking myself, "Wait. Didn't she just release
something last month?" Black Cherry was a mess and a half, not to mention the TERRIBLE song order. JUICY, Candle Light, and then Cherry Girl. SERIOUSLY? JUICY makes me want to dance, and then I want to slit my wrists with Candle Light before dancing some more to Cherry Girl. She has talent, but I think she needs to concentrate on putting it into one amazing song.

BoA - For some reason, this is one artist that I love to hate. Her latest single - sweet impact - is garbage. I think it was the beginning of the end after the release of Love and Honesty. There's something about her voice that is so annoying that I just have to keep listening to it. Whenever she wants to be dramatic, she sounds like a goat. Merikuri? ZUTTO! ZUTTO! SOBA NI ITE! Ugh. Nails across a blackboard. There's no more excitement. It's the same old stuff, single after single.

Utada Hikaru - She was one of the first artists I adored when I discovered Jpop. After her English album, Exodus, she's failed to capture my heart like she used to. I dunno. It seems like she just remixes her old stuff and adds new lyrics. I also recently realized how annoying her voice is. She can't sing without breathing every 2 seconds, and when she holds out a note, it just fades away and makes this annoying noise. It's the Utada noise. Be My Last? BE MY LAST...ttt...ttt...tt...t...

Hitomi Shimatani - She has such a pretty voice and BEAUTIFUL black hair, but her music is so generic and plain I could die. Except for maybe Mahiru no Tsuki, her entire Prima Rosa album is skip-worthy. I can barely listen to an entire song the whole way through without saying, "Didn't she already sing this song?"

Beni Arashiro - I thought this girl had potential to hit it big. I really loved Harmony and Miracle, but she just went downhill from there. I don't even know how she keeps releasing so many albums without realizing that her music is crap. It's like she's allowed to only sing the songs that even BoA rejected. I can't find a single emotion in her songs. It's just full of random beats and sounds with vocals thrown into the mess.

Ai Takaoka - Her debut album, Sunny, was amazing. I thought she knew how to play her guitar like a master. And then she released her second album, and I was like, "Wait, is this a remix album?" I swear, every song on Sunny was remade for acoustic love. Same guitar sounds. Same beats. Same everything. It was like she forgot how to play the guitar and was desperate for a new song.

Chihiro Onitsuka - I dunno. It's not like she's bad, but she's really depressed or something. ALL of her songs are slow, and she has that goat-like roar that puts me to sleep. Her new single sounds like every other ballad she's made. I'm just so tired of her being sad.

A lot of vitriol here

Mika Nakashima, BoA, and Mai Kuraki

What happened? After Glamorous Sky, Love & Honesty, and Fairy Tale, it all went downhill fast.

The biggest disappointment:Hikaru Utada

I struggled and I struggled over who I liked better before: Ayu or Hikki. And then Exodus came along. Flavor of Life had me fooled as a great song for a few weeks, and then I realized it was just an inferior version of Colors. Kiss and Cry, I will have to see...

Never really liked:Koda Kumi

I like a handful of songs. I like her personality. Too bad the overall music isn't as great as the sales numbers make it out to be.

Through it all, Ayu's music has remained consistently appealing to me. Not as intensely exciting as before, but now more like a plateau of bliss. Thankfully, I never really fed off the hype, so I know my love is genuine Hehe. I've been having an eight-year affair with Ayu. I am not giving up anytime soon!

Namie, too, hasn't failed me yet. Some singles are terrible, but she always makes up for them with better ones or a great album.

Been doing well so far: Angela Aki and Chihiro Onitsuka (new single rekindled the love).

Why no men? Well...

There are so many, I'll write more~ I added some Jrock artists too ^^

Nami Tamaki
She used to be one of my favorites, I bought her CDs, I really liked her.But then she released Get Wild, I stopped listening to her after that because I didn't like the music she released. It seemed all different from the Nami I liked.

BoA
BoA was the first JPOP artist I listened to, she was great and her dance moves from Girls on Top ALBUM was amazing. Lately, she's been putting out random cheap music that I don't like at all. Nanairo no Ashita ~BRAND NEW BEAT~ and everything after that is just horrible. I haven't been able to like any of her new songs.

L'arc~en~ciel
They were cool. But then they disappeared and everyone ended up being a solo artist or in another band. P'UNK~EN~CIEL was a good side project too. I just abandoned them ever since Link. Then SEVENTH HEAVEN came, I hate it.

Miyavi
Miyavi was my NUMBER ONE JROCK ARTIST, he really was. The acoustic/POP phase didn't work for me. I tried to listen to it, but I got bored really fast and the music didn't seem appealing to me. The "POP IS DEAD" Miyavi was great. I was hoping he would switch back to Rock after the POP phase, but I guess not. I hope he'll go back to rock soon because I'm getting tired of the material he's currently releasing and I really want to get back in touch with him.

misono. ROFL. Anything after your 2nd single was crap.

Ayumi Hamasaki. (miss)understood to present. Sorry, your new songs can't reach my heart anymore. I still listen to pre-(miss) songs.

Kumi Koda. STOP PUTTING OUT CHEAP MUSIC. Your 12 singles event was great at first, but it got crappier after No Regret. Black Cherry was utter crap. FREAKY (all except the title track) are kind of better though.
OMG. QFT. I totally agree with everything you said, with exception of Ayu. I still can tolerate one or two tracks from Secret.

omg. i'm bringing this thread back to the first page!

Ami Suzuki
what the hell happened??
i lovedx1000 all of her ATW singles, especially "Delightful" [#2 on my "Top Songs Of 2005 List".] and ATW itself was amazing!
but then all the singles from "CONNETTA" were slow and boring, with the exception of "Fantastic" which was quite good.
that 3-songs-in-three-months thing was utter shite too!

misono
just read the others.

Mika Nakashima
imo. she never should've been Nana.
then all this, "i'm gonna be a rock star!" shite would'nt have happened.
but in the end she released boring gospel and reggae music!
STICK TO THE SEXY JAZZY STUFF <3 [though i like "My Sugar Cat" and really enjoyed "YES", and "LIFE" seems promising.]

JYONGORI
or however you spell it!
"POSSESION" was amaaazing!
but so far everything else has bored me, and if she doesn't release a song that i'll like next, i'm gonna jump off the wagon, and never get back on.
although i'll keep "POSSESION" on my iPod

DOES ANYBODY ELSE LOVE BOA'S NEW STUFF?!
or is it just me? :[[

AMEN. :p My affair has also been 8 years long, and while I'm not in awe of her songs anymore(like Endless Sorrow.. I remember listening to it when it first came out and thinking, "how does she keep doing it?"), I'm consistently pleased with whatever she puts out. I don't think I'll ever lose interest in her. Which is pretty awesome, actually.

Okay, back on topic:

Mai Kuraki: DUDE. where did she go?!? I miss her awesomeness.

Utada Hikaru: I was SUPER IMPRESSED with Ultra Blue, but her latest singles have just not done it for me. *shrugs* But I have faith.

Otsuka Ai: um..wtf. PEACH, while pleasant, is NOT what she is capable of. And for this, I am disappointed.

You're not alone! I like her new stuff too!

Back to the topic:

Utada Hikaru - ULTRA BLUE is awesome! But the latest singles... too week. Flavor of life is pleasent song, but not so great as it can be! (I hate original version) Too boring for me... but I don't lose hope!!!

Koda Kumi - she (and Ayu) were very first singers I liked, but Kuu's new stuff is the same to my ear, there is no emotions at all. How she can write songs without any emotions? I still like her upbeat stuff, but mostly pre-Black Cherry era... Besides her image's too dirty for me...

Ai Otsuka - I'm tired of this funny childish songs!

Hmm, interesting thread.

Koda Kumi - I used to be more or less of a fan of hers until around the end of my stay in Japan last year. I liked her 12 singles and her BEST ~second session~ stuff, but once I kept seeing her everywhere in Japan (and once I heard 4 HOT WAVE songs), I really lost interest. I have tried to give her newer works a try, but I feel like a lot of it sounds the same to me.

ORANGE RANGE - I guess I was into them initially because their one song, "Hana" was really big in Japan when I was there on a trip two years ago. I think their music has kind of staled out on me in the past year or so, though.

I can't think of any others at this point...a lot of artists are on/off with my musical palate.

Gackt - when i was first getting into jmusic, i really lliked Gackt. his music was cool, his voice was good, and there was enough lore surrounding the man to keep me interested for quite a while.
After he released some half-assed singles collections, and then 'LOVE LETTER' (which isn't as bad as youll be led to believe, but it really isnt that good either) i just completely lost interest. Now whenever i see him, i cant help but think how freaking weird he is.....he's truly strange.
he kinda seems like the totally geeky kid in class who does a lot of loud, strange things to get attention.
i still enjoy his old music, although i dont listen to it very much anymore.

Yaida Hitomi - she was fun! she was fresh and energetic and just fun to listen to! but recently she's became bland. i dunno...something's missing. none of her recent albums have been as good, and she's just not as interesting or engaging as she used to be for me.
her latest album....i got it for my birthday (in november), but i honestly dont think ive listened to it all the way through. i havent taken it out of my cd case since i put it there after i got it.
and you know, thats actually really sad. some people in this thread just dont really care that theyve lost interest in some of the artists they used to like....but im actually a little tiny bit upset that ive stop liking yaiko. : (

im sure there are more people that ive lost interest in, but i'll talk about them later...
