I don't car. The Point is Utada cna work with Ne-Yo doesn't matter to me that it's his song. I love her voice anyway.
I just hope this version doesn't sound like the one he did with MJB.

It sounds boring. If she's gonna do R&B then let it be Blow My Whistle (ft. Foxy Brown) the sequel. At least that was interesting. And she sang better then. Dunno what's with her now. Maybe I'm the only one but I hate how she sings eversince Keep Tryin

Personally, I find it refreshing that we get some news about Hikki and her English work but Ne-Yo??!!! UGH! I definitely hate Ne-Yo, I think she coulda worked with someone else but if it's exposure for her, that's good I guess. I dunno. I adored Exodus and voila no collaborations (meaning like duet / featuring) so I kinda hope she does that again. We just need another "Animato" - if she can pull off another out of this world, special track like that, then I'll be happy!!

Okay everybody, we're all waiting for her two new albums and since I had wrote down some ideas for some potential album titles / tracks and I did one for Hikki. I've already posted one on the BoA thread and in one of the Ayumi threads but truthfully, this is my absolute favorite. I can't speak Japanese so if you can help me out with translations, you'd be my love forever.
Desert Flower (2008) Ai no Kamen [translation: "Mask of Love"] Desert Flower Amai Yume [translation: Sweet Dreams] Stay Gold Beautiful World ?? [translation: Glass Heart] ?? [translation: Cold Tea Garden] Flavor Of Life - Original Version - Kiss & Cry ?? [translation: Swan Dance] ?? [translation: Midnight Gondola] Flavor Of Life - Ballad Version - Boku wa Kuma [Bonus Track] Okay, lots of Japanese titles but I really thought they would sound prettier in Japanese. Okay, I don't know the names in Japanese but in English... eh... I'll admit I'm not crazy about the album title but I do like it. You know representing something beautiful that needs growth [water] to live. What do you guys think? Remember, I put a lot of time into this so don't be too harsh [guilt trip, j/k] But yeah, I'm gonna work on one of these for her English albums too. The new version of "Do You" with Ne-Yo... Well I hate Ne-Yo but despite what a lot of people say, I really like Hikki's vocals - on the whole though, it BETTER not be on the album even as a bonus track = NO! These are my translations, but anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Glass Heart- Garasu no Kokoro （ガラスの心） Cold Tea Garden- Tsumetai Ocha no Niwa （冷たいお茶の庭） Swan Dance- Hakuchou no Dansu （白鳥のダンス） Midnight Gondola- Mayonaka no Gondola (真夜中のガーンドラ） I really like the titles you came up with. Heart of Glass is actually a song already, but it's not the exact same title, though it is quite close. As for the Ne-Yo collab, I'm actually liking it quite a bit. I don't like Ne-Yo, but they sound quite good together.

Those titles are a bit...too pop-like to be Hikki-like titles. Not saying that they are bad titles (they are actually nice) but I think Hikki like titles witha bit more meaning behind them...plus, titles that no one has heard of before.
@bondigo: Yea! I've actually listened to the 45 second clip like 100+ times today. Also, I didn't like Ne-yo at first but when he released his lastest album, Because of You, my opinions changed quickly about him. THAT ALBUM IS AWESOMELY HOTT! |

Ugh, not that I expected for Hikki to be on the cover but that pic of Ne-Yo is...ugly [there's really no other word for it]. I mean, no offense but I think Ne-Yo is UGLY so why close in on him for the cover and the background color is yuck! I hate how it says "feat. Utada" on the way right and small print not even in the same direction as the cover - UGLY AND STUPID

Well one thing that I do agree with you on is that collaborating with Ne-Yo would definitely put her name out at least in the idea of the American crowd for collaborating with someone as big as Ne-Yo. But how is this song being released? Will it really give Utada some American exposure or is this just gonna be like on an international re-release of his album or something?
I'm one of the people who absolutely adored Exodus (my favorite album of all time) despite it not fairing so well in America sales wise. It's true that because she did take over a lot, she did risk the chance of not getting those big names known she worked with them. But I would hope she's making an album for the sake of really wanting to creating an English album to express herself, not just to make a great-selling album. If she wanted to do that, then there are a lot of things she could do that she shouldn't. In all Ne-Yo hating asides, I actually like Hikki's voice on the song and I am willing to admit that he didn't sound bad but yes, Hikki does do justice on the new version. But seriously, I'm not trying to bash Ne-Yo, I'm just saying that I think he's ugly. Okay, I guess that's bashing a little but I do think he's ugly and apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks though. Something about him just turns me off - I was just telling a friend about this who agrees with me in dislike. I'm sure he's a nice guy but something about him comes across as mean to me. I can't really put it into words but that's what it feels like. So all in all, song isn't ugly, Hikki's vocals aren't ugly, Ne-Yo's ugly!  BUT the one thing I will totally agree with you on is that we're getting some progress on this Englsih album. I just hope she's not gonna pull a COLORS on us again. First, Japan and then America but I'm mega excited for both!!! I just would rather not have Ne-Yo on this album even as a bonus track. No, uh-uh, sorry... |

i never said anything bad about Ne-Yo or said he was ugly. i actually like the guy ever since he appeared on KAT-TUN's show. he seems like a fun guy and i do like some of his music! i just don't like the cover. that's all.
i know we shouldn't be judging it by the preview, but it's only an opinion. i didn't like "Passion" when the preview was out, but it became one of my favorite Utada Hikaru songs when i heard it in full.
