is it already confirmed that the sleeve will be plastic? and not cardboard like A BEST 2? I was worried about the sleeve. I like the plastic dvd box thing from AT05 and AT06.

according to cdjapan, the documentary should be about 3.5hrs.

DVD release from Ayumi Hamasaki's first ever tour of Asia in support of the "Secret" album. Includes songs from "Secret," classic Ayu hits, and a stunning encore for a total of 120 minutes of live footage. Also includes tour documentary spanning the time from her first rehearsals for the tour up through the final show--condensing 150 days worth of tour into nearly three and a half hours worth of road movie footage. For her Asian tour, Ayumi Hamasaki went all out, bringing her standard 600 ton stage she uses in domestic performances all the way across Japan, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and more! You'll also see the warm greeting she receives from her Asian fans with tons of never-seen-before footage. Sleeve design.

Hm.. so I was somewhat right.

Nearly 3.5 hours is around 200 minutes [210 is 3.5 hours]~

I wonder if they can make a good quality documentary on a dual layer disc? :/

Quote:
8.5GB storage capacity/240-minute recording time
It looks like a "nearly 3.5 hours" documentary should just fit on the 8.5GB of space..

Ahahahah.

Anyways, I've been searching and I've found like 3 places that cite AT07 has having a 210 minute running time [TOTAL.] :<

Amazon.co.jp
Yamano Music - http://www.yamano-music.co.jp/userPr...8011183&type=V
CDJournal - http://www.cdjournal.com/main/dvd/di...dno=4208011183

I really wonder though how long it'll be... how the heck can you compress 1000 hours of footage into 90 minutes?! :|

It's gonna be a pretty good package, i hope we get translators and subtitle makers for all the documentary stuff. No one ever got to doing that ARENA TOUR 2006.

How can someone follow that when it's so unclear? O_o

I know that it says it on the official site [duh, where else did I find out about the running time first? O_O], but it's so misleading :|

Complete recording of the main show and encore, fully-loaded with big hits, including tracks from the album "Secret" and live standards!
Also including a documentary which stuck around through over 150 days of the tour from the start of rehearsals to the last show, this is a blockbuster road movie of nearly 3 and a half hours!

VAAAAAGGGUUUEEE.

^ That really IS vague! It seems like it's talking about BOTH being a combined total of 3.5 hours (which would lead to a 90 min. documentary), though...

That would suck. D=

Would the phrase "...this is a blockbuster road movie..." be referring to both the concert tour AND the documentary, or just the documentary?

Yeah..

And we mustn't forget the ultimate confusion~ CDJapan's translation of the same paragraph!

Quote:

IS THERE A POINT TO THIS D=

^ Well, that quote makes it seem like the documentary is going to be 3.5 hours instead of 90 minutes.

OH MY GOD AYU'S SITE NEEDS TO UPDATE WITH THE OFFICIAL TIMING OF THIS DOCUMENTARY. XD Just so all this confusion will be settled...

I tried to ask a few people about it, and so far the people who are fluent in Japanese say that it's likely that it'll be a 90 minute long documentary added onto the 120 minute show for a total of 210 minutes [nearly three and a half hours]~

But I find that hard to believe that after waiting so long, all we get is a dinky 90 minute documentary.. couldn't they have finished that in the time that they did the A BEST 2 one? Jeez. [btw, A BEST 2 one took like 2-3 months or less to finish the documentary]

Well, it's a "gorgeous sleeve"~ so it's likely to be the same as it has been for the last two tours.

Well, I'm sure they only worked on the 06-07CDL for a month or so. (They didn't have as much to edit, cut out, etc.)

This one, however...I will be surprised if it's only 90 minutes. Assuming that the documentary is done with editing and all of that, they had roughly 6 months to work on it (edit it, translate fan reactions, cut out boring parts, etc).

Now that I really think about it...a 3.5 hour documentary seems a bit unrealistic. Most movies aren't even that long! Not saying I wouldn't mind sitting through production of an Ayu tour that lasted 3.5 hours...it is long, but it does have it's own disc...

This is a lot to think about. >______<

I thought about the time too... it just feels appropriate considering that we had to wait for so long. It should've taken them half the time that it did to announce the release date. :/

It's coming out less than a month before the new tour begins! That, and it's coming out around the time that CDLs usually come out! That's how late they are with this release!

90 minutes seems like it COULD be enough time to cover stuff like fan/celeb reactions from overseas, rehearsals, meetings, and such.. but I dunno. To go from 1000 hours [60,000 minutes] to 90 minutes.. that's a lot. It's 1/666th the time that the filmed. D:

My guess is that that could put all MCs in the documentary somehow or at least on that disc [16 MCs] as well... Then they'd need somewhere to put the SPECIAL SCREEN videos and the AYU-MARK encore video and so on...

Ugh, I hate when DVDs take 9 months to come out XD

that's a bit ridiculous i must say. why were they so proud to announce that they have 1000 hours of footages in the first place, then only release 1/666 of it. lol

that MAY happen to. cos i was wondering why they didnt mention about the MCs and Special videos. There were 3 videos if i am not wrong. perhaps after all 16 MCs and 3 videos, we will get a 90 minutes documentary of ayu shopping in Taiwan, Hk and Shanghai. -______-

although it took 9 months to be released, it is releasing!!! BE HAPPY ABOUT IT!! how i wish we can ALL watch the video together. cos i must say this is the best tour ayu performed!!

The time does seem appropriate, considering everything that happened in the tour.

Well, they haven't even announced when CDL07-08 is coming out on DVD. (I think in another thread you stated CDL's usually come out around March / April.) I'm pretty sure CDL07-08 won't come out in March, because it would have been announced (along with the new remix CD's and the ASIA TOUR DVD). It'll probably come out around April. But I do agree - this took FOREVER to be released! (Announced, too.)

If this does end up being 90 minutes...I'm afraid all of the content will be rushed. Like, here's the rehearsals, takes up a good hour of the documentary, then the tour starts, then they go international, then they come back, tour ends, fan reactions, then the documentary ends.

I'm pretty sure the concert itself (concert + encore) will be on the first disc...aren't they including the additional MCs (from Shanghai, Taiwan, and Hong Kong)? I think those might be on the second disc, and not part of the documentary. I'm sure the SPECIAL SCREEN and AYU-MARK will be another feature on the second disc. All those might be featured slightly in the documentary (I've been listening to the ASIA TOUR promo video for a while now, and I know the SPECIAL SCREEN making-of's are featured in that video), but they most likely won't air the full things in the documentary itself.

I wonder how all this content will be divided up - obviously the concert on the first disc, documentary on the second, but I wonder if they'll put the SPECIAL SCREEN's and MC's and all that onto the second disc, or some onto the first..?

The first disc will most likely have the live + encore as well as the missing performances that were done in HK / Taiwan / Shanghai [Memorial address, JEWEL, momentum / flower garden]~

And the 2nd will be dedicated to extras, I believe.

The most obvious combination is like:

DVD1:
All songs from Fukuoka + MC at the final concert
Songs that were performed elsewhere
[however, AT06 was like, live+encore = 138 minutes spread out on two discs O_O]~

DVD2:
Documentary + all extras like MCs and SPECIAL SCREENS and "haha lol" moments
