I'm curious about how Hitoto Yo (一青窈) will do on the charts with her new album "Key", released tomorrow. she does not have a strong single off that album out, but in 07/06 she sold close to a million with her best album "BESTYO" (it's something like 800k on oricon).

isn't alans new single out 5/3 too? I hope it does well

I think it's still too early to say whether if it's a flop but the sales have kinda spoken .

no that's not it! she just didn't have any hits from the album. look at the stellar singles from HEART, and the major tie-ins she had (NANA etc). Those bring major attention. WISH however had none of that. Those who bought it were probably those who follow Yuna as fans, or something...

I know , the singles released from WISH were not as successful as those that were released from HEART , be it singles or chart positions wise .

Quite unfortunate cos it's not like Yuna cannot sing . She can but she's stuck with average songs & melodies which kinda suck cos I like her

mm. it's not a good thing that she's known as a "ballad queen" either , which is why I think they released mostly upbeat singles. but still, the album was full of lackluster ballads.

kinda . To me WISH's a decent album . It's not like it's gonna blow your mind away unfortunately .

Unless Yuna has NANA's tie-ins, she can't sell that well. And unless it's a NANa tie-in, her songs aren't so great too.

I'm guessing Yuna's WISH might sell near 100k which I don't think would be a flop considering how the singles sold what 20-30k? (40k max for Mahaloha)

I though that Celine DionxYuna Ito song would have been a hit but I was wrong....waaay wrong. I didn't like Endless Story. Tbh, I'm not in luv with any of her songs. Is that bad? I'm not Yuna fan mainly because....she sings too many ballads for my liking. I mean, of course I like ballads and all but I just think an artist shouldn't overdo it with ballads.

@fanmail: Well, at least she debuted in the top ten. It seems like it's going to be another great year for American artists. *waits for Avril and Neyo to release another album*

I know what you mean . I have a feeling Yuna wanted to breakaway from the whole sterotype that she only does ballads & she wanted to move away from there but obviously there're gonna be people who wants to see her try new music direction & some don't want that to happen & would rather lap up her ballads .

I also thought that her duet with Celine Dion would finally gave her a no.1 single but alas
