I don't think Ayu copied at all, its just an old concept. I know the whole naked thing isn't new I've seen artists use it and Ayu's used it heaps haha. Also the butterfly's that obviously not new. You can't really say anyone copied off anyone if its been used like billions of times X.X

and i didn't even see anyone saying Ayu was copying...I probably didn't read that part, but all i saw was them saying they looked similar. I don't find anything wrong with that =____=

Probly only one or two persons saying ayu copying someone else. The thing is, many others bring up similar covers, saying how similar the covers are.. It's just a bit too much. White background, curly hair, butterflies on the body, etc. These are not new ideas anywayz.

And to everyone else, I'm not among the people saying that she copied or w/e, but I think it should be fine to say it is reminiscent of 'LOVE & PEACE's cover. And who really cares if it's not original? I mean c'mon, you guys can get so critical with Ayu's material when it's not really necessary. They ARE decent covers, isn't that good enough? I personally think these are some of the best covers Ayu's released in awhile.

This thread reminds me why I rarely post or bother to read the threads in these forums (except for the news). Same childish bickering over "copying" and "natural beauty".

I still can't believe people actually think that there is such a thing as "original" art, music, fashion, whatever. Without something to come from, to copy from, art, music, and fashion wouldn't exist now. I still can't believe people think that Madonna herself does not "copy". She has lost copyright lawsuits!

And whatever in the heavens' name is natural beauty anyway? Give me someone who doesn't use toothpaste, cut hair, trim fingernails and toenails, wear clothes, use earbuds, and only cleans himself or herself with water but still manages to look beautiful and I'll call that person a "natural beauty".

If the Egyptians were already using a lot of makeup millenia ago, then why not Ayu?

Never mind the makeup, the photoshop (again, why is it demonized? Old Hollywood photographers relied on tricks too to make old movie stars look inhumanly beautiful). For me, if a person isn't born beautiful to begin with, then any amount of photoshop, cosmetic surgery, and makeup cannot make that person beautiful.

Ayu looks gorgeous. Sifow has bad music. Koda Kumi is not pretty. Hikki is overrated. The new Namie single is terrible. Not enough people know Nanase Aikawa. Ringo Shiina is a genius. Copying is a normal human activity. I feel it and I know it. That's all I need and need to know.

Anyone who wants me to quantify all the above claims with a long and thoughtful discussion can email me at my second email. I rarely read responses and threads here.

then, Madonna copies image of Marilyn Monroe's image, Farah Fawcett's hairstyle(70's artiste), Madonna also copied Ayu in her concert 2006/2007, where she appeared with a round-like-ball (just like Ayu in her 2001 Live), Britney copies Ayumi Hamasaki in her Toxic video, Namie Amuro copies Ayumi Hamasaki in her video Wishing For the same star(the diamonds on the body-Kanariya PV), Ayu copies Christina Aguilera's image in Ourselves PV....

this issue will never stop as we will tend to find more similarities if we compare artistes' cover singles/albums, fashion, style or what ever it is...so let us not to discuss over this issue anymore.

Finally, someone who is actually RATIONAL.

Reality itself is already a copy.

it saddens me how some of you here are so immature
copies or not big deals...does it affect how you view ayu now because she copies [insert names here]; art always reforms in different way and WILL look similar in styles. Just because there are similarities and that's instantly a "COPY"
just wow...that's some protective fans there..by all means I'm not protecting ayu just because I'm her fan but because in art there IS such a thing call copy and it evolves

Your argument made sense in the beginning until this part came up, which completely discredited your argument for me. The things you said about those artists have nothing to do with your original argument about copying.

To say it's a copy is dumb, but you gotta admit it's similar. But it's also similar to many other covers. Is that bad thing? No. It's one of her best covers in some time.
