I didn't even realize she missed a line in the chorus did people started mentioning it. However overall it was a good performance although near the end the performance was slowing going downhill in terms of her voice. She looked amazing in the gold dress.

Sorry, but you guys can't watch CDL. Because it's never shown on the regular TBS. They broadcast Ayu CDL's on TBSチャンネル (TBS ch.) Which is unfortunately not available streaming.

Ok never mind i got it from the downloads thread. Erm, it wasn't pretty for me at all. Her pitch was everywhere in Mirrorcle World although i thought she rescued the part where she sang wrong lyrics well. It got much better toward the end. SURREAL was, oh man. For the bridge and one of the chorus, she was perpetually in another key and even though she managed to hit the high note for the last chorus, the rest of the line was dead flat. She is really very careless in pitching. You can't just whack the note anyhow. But whatever. She looked great and it's her first tv appearance in a long time. I'll take whatever i can get.

Yeah, the end of SURREAL was decent, the rest was pretty bad I mean if she can't sing it like she used to why not leaving the song alone already! Also somehow Ayu's live singing has gotten worse since GUILTY was released, I am starting to think she doesn't even care anymore, as I mean it's obvious she sounds far from the way she did since Together When..

Ahh, give the poor woman a break. She's 50% deaf I'm just happy she hasn't retired already.

I'm kinda dissapointed with how ayu sing now...despite being half deaf or anything she shouldn't sounds liek anyhow sings...she really sounds bad now...even ASIA TOUR 2008 doesnt make me super excited because from all the clips we saw...IMO she sounds so off and struggling to scream but its offkey..she still have the 'feel' but her voice needs some touch ups

I know i know. But some of the songs she sang weren't that terrible, like she can still seem to sing STEP you the way she did, RAINBOW was good, fated and Together when were awesome and so was glitter (I am now talking about the last CDL), so I guess she needs to try harder, but I guess no one is going to bother and tell her...

If she sings bad in live like MW: oh i don't like the way she sings, leave this songs...

if she does lip-sync it's also bad, she is not singing in live...

so what you want? She is trying hard to sing, and imo this is one of the best performance in TV since before t2m was released... all t2m performances in TV were no as good as she did in CDL, and TW live... imo only the performance in "chose best artist" was really good... and MW live in april... also terrible... at least this time her voice wasn't shaking, she controled it i think...


well, i only want to say that now for her is difficult to sing perfectly a song, she have to do the double of work to know perfectly the notes, she is realasing things, doing a lot of concerts, going TV... also she did 2 CONCETS THIS WEEKEND so only 3 days after all trip and so she have done a huge TV performance... and forthemore MW is a really difficult song imo, it doesn't have a clear melody line... its more difficult to sing than others...

It's not that I disagree, but she could take things easier if she wanted to, I don't mind her singing badly, I'll still love her as much as always, and I may be dumb but I still strongly believe Ayu doesn't lip-sync as much as people here are saying. Plus there was nothing wrong with MW.

I don't think it's her voice being on a decline, she just simply can't sing MW live, though this was the best yet. It's a song that goes from extremely fast paced singing into very slow, soft singing. Clearly the fast singing makes out of breath, so she can hardly sing the slow parts.

SURREAL.. was a bit all over the place, she seemed out of breath in the slow parts there too, but nothing I would categorize as "bad".

Yes, i agree with pretty much everything you said. I know that we should take her ear in to account too as part of the problem, but at the same time, she has had problems with that ear for almost her whole career and still managed to almost always deliver at least decent vocals. I've really thought for over a year now that something else was going on with her vocals beyond the ear problem - for example, as you mentioned, cutting lines off short should have nothing to do with the ear problem.

The up side of this I guess is that she actually wasn't vocally the worst of the night. Mochida Kaori of Every Little Thing was actually worse - it seems she really and truly just can not sing the old songs anymore. She had surgery on her throat to remove a nodule that had developed, but something must have gone wrong because her voice has never been the same since. Very unfortunate for her, but cheers to her and her bandmate for trying to continue anyways. Globes vocals weren't too hot either.

btw, what happened to TRF? They were scheduled to be on this special and then poof they were gone.

Her vocals weren't the best, I noticed a few times she had her hand on her ear, looking like she was in a bit of pain, poor thing =/...

Also, was that like the least enthusiastic crowd of all time, or was it just me XD?

Well, I've had the feeling over the last 2 years that Ayu is losing her grip on the general public. Surreal did get a big pop from the crowd though when it started, but as she started singing the excitement got less and less.
