Interesting thread. 2005 was the year I really began listening too Jpop. My first song was Monochrome by Ayumi Hamasaki.

2005, I love it. I started listening to J-music that year too, but only with random songs. But really. 2005 is a wonderful year for j-music. Two of my favourite artistis (Ayu & Kumi) released wonderful songs that year. And Kumi's secret. I love it~ <3

And Hikki too. Man, I wish there was something like that next year too.

yes !!! i love step you/ is this love and Heaven ....it's great year for Ayu's music ( not sales ) ..... i started listening to J-pop in 2004 ( just 4 years ) .

There was that whole thing with Yaguchi Mari leaving MMusume, that is if you follow H!P a bit. I remember that was made into somewhat of a big deal; they had her making apologizes and lots of coverage on that.

Personally I do miss 2005, especially as an Ayu fan, but I think the years 2001-2002 were really great. Probably my fav period for music/entertainment.

I think I favor 05 cause most of my favorite Jpop songs was released that year. & MY LOVE KODA KUMI blew up in 05.
