No, it was not subtle at all - it just was not executed well.

the video to me is about a group of artist living in China,
all they're friendship, sadness and feelings i think ayu is overeacting on the street because the director is trying to give it a musical style to this video (and we know the the musical are always very overeacted) and i love the homosexuality topic...because the artist world has been always full of gay people, the director in fact is very "gay" (you know that if you watch the mirrorcle world makin' of) ![]() as a gay men i always say thanks when the artist talk about gay poeple Last edited by perfectodub; 26th November 2008 at 05:49 AM. |

Am I the only person that doesn't notice erratic camera movements? XD Well I do, but it simulates movement on the street pretty well. I think it would be a little too cinematic if it held perfectly still and captured her coming towards it.

I agree with every single one of you on something. I'd quote you all, but I'm afraid I'd run out of room.
![]() So, I personally loved this video. ^^ A majority of the video certainly reminded me of "Mirrorcle World," like many of you have stated. It didn't really bother me, although I have to say I noticed it more. Like, sometimes I'd have to hear someone say or read one's post, "This video reminded me of that video!" This time I even noticed the similarities myself. Whether that's a good or bad thing, I don't know. The opening scenes of Shanghai were beautiful! Either I'm loving the old time or Shanghai is really that beautiful, or both! ![]() Okay, I didn't mind her at all when she was walking through the streets, but some things irked me. They way she started... I felt like it was a, "Ready? Go!" movement rather than starting off right away with her in the middle of a walk. And I do feel like her acting is overemphasized. The direction there should've been more casual. The guys outside of the theatre were very cute! I loved their little "rehearsal." ![]() I'm getting a little tired of the feather-on-the-head thing, but I love the dancers in this scene with Ayu in the white outfit! The choreography is beautiful and she looks gorgeous as well! ![]() When the dancers put the fans in front of Ayu, I wondered what they would reveal. I gasped out loud when I saw her in the red dress (forgive me, I do not know how to spell the name of the particular dress, a qie pao?). She looks, oh, my God, breath-takingly beautiful! And I love these shots of Midoring eyeing her. Really adds to the symbolism. ![]() I do feel like the shot of her back in the white dress is a bit out of place. I mean, I can kind of see the reason behind the transition between "reality" and "fantasy," but it still looks choppy. You know, at first I didn't like Midoring dancing with Ayu. Not because they're both girls, but I just didn't feel the chemistry between them. But after reading some comments and watching them again, it is indeed a very beautiful scene. And I hope to see Ayu ballroom dancing more in the future! ![]() Alright, after finally finishing watching the PV again and giving my comments after each scene... lol I understood the PV before, but I understand it more now. After really watching it I don't feel like there are many holes within the story. I mean, every music video can't be a long mini movie like "Thriller," right? (Come on, the PV cost enough money as it is! Just kidding.)In a nutshell: beautiful scenery, spectacular choreography, wonderful song. ^^ I just have one question: Is there any meaning behind the 30s/40s theme? Like, does it connect with the message or is it just to emphasize the pretty? lol

OMG wat a weird pv... kinda disappointing
![]() at the beginning it's just like some sort of chinese new year song's pv....the dragon , lion, fire crackers..etc. then ayu's singing and walking.. kinda unnatural... feel that it's worse than mirrocle world... well that's my point of view..

I don't think it was subtle, the thinking part was so obvious because she makes a really exaggerated "look I'm day dreaming" face.

geez, this PV is something different from her previous PVs..
thought that: - her walking down the street was a lil' exaggerated.. - the dancers dancing outside the club was rather random - Gomi and zin (was it him? i couldnt really see) dancing in the changing room was also random. - her touching Midoring's face was really intimate, as though touchin a real man's - liked the setting.. liked it..

I think its interesting.... not bad at all I like it actually! Its very unique. the homosexual thing really doesn't bother me at all. I think she might have been trying to make a statement in this PV ^^

The walk in the beginning looked so ... awkward to watch. But overall it was visually appealing and just a treat for the eyes. I liked it. and I like Ayu x Midoring =D

I'm realizing that Kazuyoshi, if he makes another PV, will have another introduction where it's a town -> Ayu walking... and somewhere inbetween would be Ayu's face conveying some sort of emotion (ferocity, longing, etc.)..

lets see
when the song came out, and the images of the making of too, I thought that the video was going to be awful then when the pv's preview came out, I thought, wow this video is going to awesomee and now, after I watched the pv... I feel like something is missing, the first walk is a bit too much, I started thinking that it was a PARODY but when she appeared crying, I knew it wasn't... I love the song, love the lyrics, love the subject of this pv.... but I don't think that it reflects as good as it could plus her feaders clothes remain me to Kylie Minogue A LOT omg yeah and the males dancing in the front of that theatre or something, they looked soo weird xD didn't like their dance in that part at all maro looked hot thou xD same as zin *-* the dance in general was good, I think that midoring did a pretty good job, I think shes really hot as a male xDDDD maybe I will marry her

This was a very beautiful PV. It has it's minor problems, but the underlining effect it rather beautiful..I'm just wondering what the hell just happened in the end.
Once again, Ayu releases another PV with a shot of somebody inside of a car and we don't know who it is...Maybe the stream was a little blurry, but I'm assuming it was Mido. Assuming it was Mido, I think it's also save to assume that this video ENDS all of the ShuAyu rumors...Now we can all scream about Ayu&Mido...and even Ayu&Mika---since they are such close friends. I can just see the presses going crazy about this because, unlike Koda---who's notorious for cashing in on anything that's controversial...Ayu (although she does have her moments of doing so) usually doesn't go this route. But I like this new Ayu...I can understand what she's really trying to say with this video, and that is that love comes in all different colors---or rather, all different forms. As mentioned before...there are some things wrong (or things I found a little, meh...) Number One: what did all the money go into? The city, could've easily been constructed with blue screen, but I guess that wanted something realistic. The city is the only thing I can think of being so expensive. That and the insurance and salaries of the extras. Number Two: Ayu should NEVER...EVER...EVER...Wear her hair like this EVER again! It is repulsive...I'm sorry, but I'm just telling the truth. I always believed that I hated Ayu's hair pulled back but this one...Ugh, took the cake and messed all over it. Number Three: What happened to all the posters?! I was SO looking forward to Ayu wearing the costumes in them...But I guess i got my hopes up. Or maybe I saw more shots of the same poster and can only remember the quantity of them. *sigh* I just wish more fashion had been involved. And NO that white marshmallow puffball doesn't count! ^_^ Another minor thing, being that I *love* fashion...Is that the colors Ayu chose to wear in this PV weren't very complimentary to her complexion. White doesn't do her much justice, red always shows up bland on her for some reason, unless her hair is dyed a certain color, and that potato sack brown wouldn't look good on anyone. Not even the potatoes it's supposed to be holding. Number Four: ...too much of the same scenes---specifically the dancing. Ayu isn't a very good dancer. She has improved greatly since her debut, but the focus of her music videos should never be her dancing...I know she's trying very hard, and i commend her for doing that. But there comes a point where you gotta let it go...and right here, the stiff-necked twisting is where somebody should've said, CUT!! ^_^' Hence why a director is present in the first place...Riiiight? *cries* I know I'm being harsh...but I have higher expectations for Ayu than I do any other artist in the world...When it's all said and done, NO ONE can top her---It's just these little mistakes that make it possible. And who knows, maybe when I buy the new album and watch it on TV, I might change my mind about it. But for right now, my opinion is just as I said...It's a beautiful PV overall, but it's got some problems. |

I personally have no problem with the implied homosexuality of the video - not one bit; I just think it could've been done a whole heck of a lot better. |
