Well, the reason why people haven't been satisfied since glitter/fated [or even Startin'/Born To Be...] is because the PVs just haven't been up to the level that the 2005 PVs were by any means. They've tried to be as meaningful or as cryptic, but because of bad choice of directors, we just get... a hot mess. It's even worse now since Ayu's using someone who generally takes photos and has them directing her big budget PVs. That doesn't make any sense! He's an amateur and should not be given such grand opportunities, imo. He should've just left the job to the professionals. It makes me wonder why he think that he can even do it.. (his photography is also very questionable, since it all looks like cheap editorials from fashion magazines instead of a calendar/single/album/whatever..)

As we know, ayu isn't the one hiring those producers, she chooses them from a selection she has.
avex are hiring him also as a producer most likely because he's good in what he's doing, even if people here don't think so.

People want to see the PVs in a very specific (and directing) ways so they take it down if it's not what they exactly wanted.

I totally agree with you truehappiness. I don't understand why he's given such high budget pvs to shoot...seriously. I also don't like his open mouth photoshoots. I wonder if the TA members likes him. If only I live in Japan...I'll join TA and complain to ayu.

notice the lyrics telling us she'll see that person again when winter/fall has ended and everything is GREEN again

How'd you get that out of the lyrics?

What I got was that she has to tell someone she is in love with the truth of her feelings, and that once she does the leaves will be 'green' again. And that something's going to change that will make her need to tell of the feelings, so the speak. Maybe the lover leaving (like in the PV) is the 'changing of wind'?

Also the scene with the birds is actually my favorite.. I think it looks absolutely beautiful. *_*

As for the PV, it looked very cinematic and the costumes and sets were beautiful. Somehow though the execution of the PV wasn't quite as good as it could have been, the plot/point of a the PV was a little undefined imo (other than the fact that Ayu is a singer in China^_^) It feels like it was so close to being amazing and then just barely fell short.

I think that japanese people might like this kind of "melodramatic overacting". It didn't really hurt MW's sales either.... Dunno how they'll react to the "forbidden love" theme though, well the media at least. But I'm not too sure how's Japan's situation with that atm anyway... xb

Yeah of course ayu had PVs that are better than GREEN (GREEN didn't become my favorite PV) but it is interesting and fun to watch along with the song and portraying something interesting, that's why I like it.
Not trying to ruin it for myself and work hard for disliking (or expected it to be in a very specific way I want it to look).
People here make the poor director the devil and that GREEN is like the worst PV ever (and it was the same with Mirrorcle World and from now on I'm not expecting any PV to get a lot of good reviews since most won't be satisfied anyway no matter who is the director and what is the idea or song). It's not like it wasn't like that even before those directors started to direct ayu's PVs. Some here acting more divaish than ayu in MW and GREEN PVs.

^That reminds me when INSPIRE was released a couple of years ago. A lot of people were whining saying it was the worst PV ever, totally forgetting this prize belongs to the "Trust" PV It was clear that many of the complaints were dramatic overreaction.

I really really enjoyed this video
The whole feel of it was so sweet and it seemed highly romanticized.... possibly because of the 40's era setting, everything seemed romanticized back then when viewed now.


But, yes..... very very good PV......the end left me wanting more though.... and also not ebing able to wait for the days video to make an appearance
