okay so i may have not been entirely truthful...

i really thought kuu was a total ***** for a really long time...like 6 months or something but I did really enjoy her voice...

and then I saw SHAKE IT and discovered that I'm a little whorish myself...and that sex in music is totally awesome.

So, I love kuu and her awesomely suggestive lyrics and beats.

You know I've discovered quite recently that there's a chunk of kuu's music that really has a unique sound. You know...sometimes it's not quite pop or hiphop or anything...and i think that's pretty cool.

Her recent songs have been driving away from it...but that's okay.

I became interested in her after hearing 1000 Words and Real Emotion. But after seeing the videos for Love Across the Ocean, and hearing To Be One, Rain, Pearl Moon, and M.A.Z.E I became a huge fan of hers. I was lucky that my first anime con I ever went to Kuu was the musical guest. So after getting to see her live and meeting her I became a bigger fan and have become addicted after that. Then getting to see her perform and meet heragain at Kamikazecon just made my fandom for her grow even more. As seeing her become as popular as she did within a year.

I had known about her since she did the song+nation song with BoA, but I didn't really know anything about her until Real Emotion / 1000 no Kotoba. And I didn't become a fan until BEST ~first things~.
Honestly, I really disliked Kumi Koda at first. Her voice bothered the crap out of me (...and still kinda does. >.>') and it made me so mad that whenever I was trying to get the full versions of Real Emotion and 1000 no Kotoba, Kumi kept coming up instead of Jade, lol. But one day it hit me: I really, really like this girl! Of course, starting a few years ago, I had almost a hatred for her because of where she was going with her image. Her PVs disgusted me; I knew she was better than that. :\ And it didn't help that the guy I liked drooled over her non-stop. ^^' (But that man is now my husband, so I'm over it. )
This past year, I have finally realised that no matter what Kuu does, I'll be there to follow her the whole way. She's tied for my favourite artist (Ayu being the other one, of course.)

I'm kind of obsessed with her, but I'm not blinded with fandom.
I got interested in her with the But single and Black Cherry album, but I know her since FF X-2.
She's the most unique artist for me, I totally love her voice and I prefer her music over others. But the thing that makes me obsessed with her is her great character! She's somehow crazy and tacky, but she's one of the most open minded and down to earth people I've ever saw. She's a damn interesting person. I could write a lot about why I like her, but also what I don't like. That belongs together.
For me it's a perfect bundle with voice, music, character and charisma.
