I love your analysis thank you, it's really interesting to read and to be egnlightened since I didn't notice hehe.
It seems that ayu doesn't just put stuff one after another and that it's not that simple as people thought.
Nice trilogy with 2 great songs and an amazing interlude between them =D.

I also noticed that Waterballoon (though i didn't go as deep as you hehehehe

) , and actually Maikaru kind of mentioned before, because she said Pieces of seven was a continuation of Love n' Hate. I kind of felt the connection because of the numbers she mentions in the songs.Also, pieces of seven starts as a very sweet, peaceful mellody, and then... it becomes a hard rock song, which in my opinion makes echo musically to the "love and hate" of the previous track

That it is, but it still doesn't do the job it was put there to do, it's a horrible transition into Days, it should have gone somewhere else or replaced another interlude :3

wow at the number seven!! hahaz.. I love Pieces of SEVEN, it's a great interlude. but now I think I will love all her songs since u mentioned abt their connection. Ayu!!

ayu with Nagase --------SEVEN years, and the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 0 means the procedure to the end of the relationship.

Pieces of SEVEN means the "pieces" of the long ago time.

Days, you know... XD

I LOOOVE the interlude SO much. And "LOVE 'n' HATE" is my favorite new track and they just flow so well together. <3 I'm so glad to see others feel the same as me. How can anyone think they suck or "fail?!"

but it seemed like in Days...(from this analysis) that 7 was the taboo number while in LOVE 'n' HATE and Pieces of SEVEN, Ayu got over it...

Pieces of SEVEN is my favorite interlude from her, ever! Interlude as in comparing to the rest of her interludes... but yeah it's bad as a transition. Oops!

And well, she might also have taken her 7 years of relationship with Nagase into consideration as well.

@GRACE: I so agree with LOVE 'n' HATE being the Days 'emo for you' mix!

That's what I meant and also wrote in the lyrics' thread. I hoped "Pieces of SEVEN" would be a full song, because it surely would have had awesome lyrics. But the usage of this title for an interlude is also nice.

There's one part in "Days" that makes me think that it isn't about Nagase.

That means the person who it was written for must be in a relation since a longer time. That's why I think "LOVE'n'HATE" and "Days" are about different people.

I just have a different outlook altogether as I think both songs are about past loves of hers.

but when people say songs are probably about Nagase i doubt it. i think people are reaching when they're saying the '7' refers to their relationship.. not everything has to be about him. i think she's pretty much over him

^I don't assume everything is about Nagase. But there're songs throughout her whole career that seem to be about the same person, so why wouldn't she write about Nagase?

I've always thought that Days was definitely about Nagase and how he is now moving on with a different girl. Love'n'Hate also seems pretty obviously about him, at least to me.

It doesn't sound like this song is about a crush at all, but about a past love who she wanted to love fully but for whatever reason inside of herself she was not able to. Nagase wanted the relationship to get more serious for a long time (hence why he stuck around for 7 years), but its commonly believed that Ayu was the one holding back. I think Love'n'Hate's lyrics express her mixed feelings about that.
