I thought about this yesterday, and I just wanted to say, you know some of these groups are not exactly hate groups...

some of them are just inside jokes between members who are friends and happen to share the same music interests.

So what if they talk crap about artists...I've seen a ton of artist bashing here too between people who love Ayu...so...I mean, just understand a little bit about where they're coming from.

If they're retarded, that's their problem. It's not like anyone has to go into those groups and read what they say when they aren't even apart of it.

it depends on what they're "hating" on--we don't praise ayu because of her hearing disability, so they shouldn't use that as a target against her. Whether or not it's the "same thing" as us idolizing her, making fun of someone for having a disability has no excuses. Whether it's ayu or not. There should be no condoning of that type of stuff. I mean seriously, i'm not sure if anyone here has anyone with disabilities in their family or circle of friends, but it's already hard enough without people using it as a target. That goes beyond making fun of ayu. It's making fun of a common human disability.

Same thing with Namie's mother. I mean seriously. Grow up.

I could care less if they make fun of appearance, singing skills, dancing skills, etc. But i mean, deafness and murdered parents? wow.

There is a forum on Orkut (a website like MySpace, but largelly used by brazilians) called "Tenho medo da Ayumi Hamasaki", that means "I'm afraid of Ayumi Hamasaki", that is used to make fun of Ayu's strange videos, lives and photoshots (her fierce looks are a common subject).

But everybody over there need to know her work at some extent in order to make the jokes, so, they are fans...

But yeah.. I think sites like this are actually pretty funny, hah. But, it is sad that they make fun of her hearing. I mean, making a joke once or twice about it is excusable, but to throw it in to every joke? That's just.....flat out mean. Especially since being deaf, even in one ear, is nearly the worst thing that can happen to a musician!

^ Even if, unlike her, you can't relate personally to, say, Ayumi's illness, anybody can at least picture what that'd be like. How it is to be a musician, to love music and singing more than almost anything in the world, and then one day you learn that you'll never be able to enjoy it as well. Your hearing is cut down by half and there's absolutely nothing you can do to reverse it. But the worst part is, you now have to worry about the "what-ifs" that go along with this. Like, what if it gets worse, what if I go completely deaf?...

THANK YOU tokyo! It's fine for people to "hate" ayu, they have as much a right to as I/we do liking her, but no one can say "they're just like us" when they make fun of a disability or the death of someone's mother, that's simply inappropriate and rude.
