I know right? and on top of that don't you usually have a press conference if your going to announce marriage?...Guy better not be using Namie as a publicity stunt or something, aside from that, as long as she's happy... xD

Its just too odd to announce that they're just dating. Did Koda Kumi use her dating a member of SMAP to help her album sales? Kinda pathetic, actually.

Hmm I don't think he's using Namie lol, he seems pretty honest in that interview.
They probably wanted to keep their relationship private but the paparazzi were all over them once they found out they were dating. So I think he was kind of forced to tell people what's up lol.

And there's this rumor going around that Namie was angry with Jaws (thats his new nickname from now on, thanks jbrat XD) for doing the public interview, but apparantely her agency denied that she was.

If he really cared about her, he would have consorted with her before doing the interview to make sure that he gave the right answers, since he is talking about her after all..

If he didn't, then he's pretty stupid, and she has every right to be angry at him.

I guess we'll see what happens lol

Often times when something like this comes out in newspapers with proof there are press conferences held in Japan. Notice it was just him and not Namie though; she does covet her private lives privacy so this relationship may indeed wind up being quite short.

Because Johnny's would never allow such a press conference to occur unless Koda was knocked up. (sorry if that sounds rude) Just like Namie's relationship with the guy in V6 never had a press conference. Johnny's really keeps a lid on that stuff unless absolutely necassary (like with Kimura). Otherwise though, its not that uncommon of a thing to see in Japan.

Tomoya Nagase was under Johnny's too, right? I don't think he ever did a press conference with the Ayu stuff, but it was public and well known anyway... isn't that bad?

I'm still surprised that Namie was not there. Even if he didn't tell her he was going to do the conference (which I doubt) she would have known of it happening before the actual event otherwise. And more important, avex would have known.

Isn't it bad for J-pop singers to be publicly taken? (at least for idols, I've always thought that they have to give this image of being available and such.). Maybe is not the case anymore for Namie since she is older and has a son, but still.
