Smile Heidi Montag - Superficial [Debut Album]

Okay. I'm such the hypocrite. But I think I like-Heidi Montag now! I liked her pre-surgery, but Spencer seriously made me not like her. (Hills drama- lol!) Not to mention her recent unneeded plastic surgery. She was already drool-worthy. Now she looks like a Barbie doll. Yeah, she started off as a reality star, but at least she's trying to get past that image so I'll give her a chance.

I just listened to her album on Youtube and I like it so much I downloaded it! The beats on her songs are really addicting, maybe its just because I like dance and club music. Its an album that I would definitely dance to, rather than resort to for its lyrics. They are still catchy though. I think with some vocal lessons I could grow to really like her voice.

On a side note, I feel sorry for her low sales now. With all of the money she reportedly invested. ($2 million) I might even go out and buy it.
Has anyone else tried her album and liked any songs?

My favorites and recommendations are:

1. Twisted - This song sounds awesome on my headphones. There's a gradual lead up to a "dark circus" sounding chorus. The chorus is really powerful with her crying out, but it fits perfectly. It's a really great track on the album.

2. I'll Do It - Again the slow club strobe beat is catchy. As cliche and cheesy as it is, I like these lyrics. It's sexy and romantic, and has the potential to be a hit if given the potential. This is a song that's meant for a significant other for a night full of teasing, fun seduction. The end phrase of the chorus is a nice touch.

3. One More Drink - The chorus really has me. I also like the darkness of the song. Her voice is kind of soothing in this song, especially around the second chorus. The overall House theme of this song makes it sound like an epic anthem. It's a song I could dance to slowly in the club-with someone special to me of course.

4. Love It or Leave It - This song reminds me too much of Brittney, but I won't think about that. It's still a good song despite this, with her saying she'll do what she wants no matter what anyone says. The song title speaks for itself "Love It or Leave It."

5. Hey Boy - Reminds me of the 90's. lol. Really poppy and bubbly with the club theme that this album is centered around. It's a fun song that could potentially have a "girl spies on guy who gets caught" video.

6. Fanatic - The chorus just makes you want to dance. It has a kind of psychadelic feel to it, and her voice distortion during the chorus matches the overall sound.

7. My Parade - A good self-positive song that boasts about having fun despite the negative Nancy's. aka Haters. The music band instrument at the beginning kind of turned me away until I listened to the song in it's entirety and it's a great song to listen to if you have anyone who's trying to bring you down.

Overall, it's a good pop/club/house album. So give it a try.

I heard some tracks off the album, and I liked them. I heard about how much was put into the album too and I would feel bad for her too if it totally tanks (which is probably will). Surprised me that I liked some tracks cause I was never really into her, and really wish she had never had plastic surgery.

I read that it sold less than 1000 copies the first week on a Yahoo article. I was curious as to how bad people were saying the album was and gave it a try. I wasn't into her celebrity personality, but I give everyone a chance. The surgery was again, very unneeded.

Yes, basically this album was a flop, and apparently took a lot of money to make. I feel bad.

I never hated her cause she's ugly....she's just annoying and in the "news" wayyy too much. She looked pretty though. Now she went out and made herself out to be just another ugly plastic doll out there....

Yeah, she looked better before the surgeries...

but anyway, I was interested in listening to this album because she said that regardless if you like her or not, she hired like the best producers or something, so the music will be good anyway...

so...some people seem to like it...I'll give it a try I guess. But automatically, just because she said that...I really don't have respect for her as an artist at all...we'll see how it goes.

oh thanks for the youtube links non3ko Saves me some time~

So yeah, listened to those ones that were posted...um she certainly is the weakest part of the music.

If you gave this music to someone like Gaga, she'd just make it own.

It's kinda how I suspected it would be, it's pretty average music, and possibly catchy, but her vocals are weak and she doesn't bring any really good energy to it...so the beats for me kinda start falling a little flat because they aren't properly being carried.

Maybe live they'd be better? I liked the first three songs on your list the best.

But anyway, the album could certainly be worse. I think if people like stuff like Kesha, they could like this too....although heidi's genre isn't as popular here as the heavier hip hop beat stuff.

I didn't know she'd said something like that. Makes me rethink how I've been pitying her lately. That makes her sound so arrogant! I'd thought she was such a sweetheart this whole time. lol

I'm not a fan of Ke$ha. (<--spelling?) I listened to that tik tock song and was cringing the entire time. I'm more into hard dance, trance, and similar music besides J-music. It's been a few days and I can't listen to it as often as I can like some of my favorite artists. It takes me many months to get tired of a song. My computer needs some space and guess which'll be the first thing to go?

Besides making some mistakes with which old songs made the album (Body Language and No More are both far superior to Blackout), it's actually a pretty decent album.
If people could look over it being Heidi Montag then I'm sure more people would enjoy it.
More Is More is a pretty epic dance/pop track.
Fanatic and Blackout are the only tracks I'm tempted to skip.
