Ayu's CDL 2009-2010.. problems?

Hi all,

I dunno if this has been discussed before, but I was just wondering about the way Ayu sounded at the 09-10 CDL.. I watched it again and noticed more than ever that there were real problems with the mic and the volume.. :S could that be why Ayu didn't sound her best? Especially during You Were.. it sounded as though she was straining her voice because she was trying to be heard above the sound of the music, because her mic sounded really low. Any thoughts? This is my first post, so forgive me if this sounds weird.. I was just curious.

yeah...i think CDL 09-10 broadcasted really poorly...
the sound is very-very bad...i almost can't hear her voice in some part...and the camera works is so bad...there is about one-two minutes part of because of you where the camera doesn't change at all...
i hope this year, they will do a better job

She did sound bad, but the broadcast was also really bad. They didn't mix it correctly. The vocals were so low, making Ayu sound weaker than ever.

The problem lies entirely in the team mixing the sound and the live video. It sucked, but keep in mind that in a live broadcast you need different settings for every single instrument of every single song and the general mix of every song. Sometimes even in songs when for example a guitar solo comes up.

the live versions of the CDLs are always terrible with sound quality. the live team don't do a great job at mixing everything well. but the DVD is always a lot better

Yeah, there were problems with the mic and the camera, so if there were better sound and camera crews, then she would sound a lot better~
DVD version will be awesome, though~ (^_^)

Remember CDL 07-08, talkin' 2 myself. I could hardly hear her when she started singing! But on the DVD it was all cool

Yeah its probably the 2nd worst broadcast of a cdl behind cdl 01-02, you could hear the echo from the arena and it looks like the whole thing was shot from the audience.

I hope that the dvd will sound betetr, on some parts of I am you just did't hear her. the music was so loud i heard her trying to be heard but i just heard her almost for zero.

I actually haven't seen it because I heard so much about the sounding being bad. The setlist is quite incredible, and for that reason I didn't want the sound problems to put me off it so I didn't watch it. I had only seen I am... to confirm that it was bad sound and then I left it.

DVD Version will be incredible, no doubt.

I listened to a ton of Ayu concerts on the home theater system we recently got (DT01, AT05, AT06, AT09... etc.) and then I put CDL09-10 in....

The sound is TERRIBLE. Ayu's voice is hidden behind all of the instruments and backup singers. Whoever did the mixing for the live broadcast needs to be fired, haha.

and WHY we don't have teh rebroadcasted version!!?? no one recorded it!! so sad!! I was waiting for it to see if they fixed the problem!!

I only watched this CDL once because of that... XD I canonly hear Peco and Princes and all the intruments better than Ayu...

I know Ayu sounded pitchy in some parts, but it was definitely a sound problem.. I just watched Ayu singing the first verse and chorus of Inspire in this years tour, and it all sounded so much better than the CDL live!

I know that I will probably get killed by this, but I think the reason why I am... mixing is so bad quality is because she was lipsyncing to a prerecorded voice.

I wanna tell you why I can tell. In the build up to the chorus, there is the part

"hibi no saki ni wa nani ga arimasu ka"

And then there is the part

"nagaretsuku no wa donna basho desu ka"

And when she is mouthing the words, she says

"hibi no saki ni wa donna arimasu ka."

It's really easy to tell, because the mouth is made in a "donna" kind of way, and not "nani." I hope it's some kind of broadcasting error, but if you think "donna" in that part, the mouth matches too much... But I think I am... is the only lipsync song there.

maybe you just have to wait for the DVD to listen to better vocals~
