The meaning of combusting & exploding in such a manner isn't out of character for ayu, and if you gonna have Ayu turn into a bunch of loose flower petals, isn't fire the best way to do it and have it really make an impact? I would have made the same creative decisions in her & the director's place regardless of whether people had been on fire in a recent video.
