Well, we still have one more hope. Yesterday (Nov. 23) was the national holiday in Japan rite? People said many cd stores closed on that day... so it could be a reason for such horrible low sales. So Nov 24 sales (which will be posted on oricon tomorrow) will tell whether we're lying to ourselves or not. Personally I dun wanna too unrealistic, even tho I keep hoping these two days' sales are just our nightmares.

This reminds me of the UB era. The time when I thought the first week sales would be at least 700K, and it ended up barely over 500K (remember back then we didn't know the daily sales until the end of the week?). I was so melancholic for a few days since it was a huge drop from SC1 to UB. Now it seems like we may encounter another huge drop from HS to SC2... ..

Tomorrow we should get the first proper, normal sales, yeah. Well, the drop from SC2 to UB wasn't AS weird, IMO. The first was a best album, the second a studio album released two years later in times of quickly dropping album sales. It's been two years since HS now as well, but SC2 is a best album, so I don't expect too steep a drop, though. Still, the people expecting like 800k first week need a reality check, IMHO XD

I'm not saying Hikki's sales are bad but if she's selling lower than expected it really reflects the difficulty veteran female solo artists are having now a days. But I was naively under the assumption that Hikki could sell better than the rest no matter the circumstances...

Just curious, why do you think a handshaking event is such a bad idea? It would be a nice way to say goodbye to fans personally and would definitely boost sales. On the other hand, it might not be Hikki's thing and if the chaos Ayu caused by walking out on the streets is any indication, I'm sure the Japanese will go BALLISTIC if Hikki did a meet-and-greet or something of that nature. The whole country might shut down for a few days!

I actually agree with Poly. Handshake events are used by boy/girl band companies in order to boost profits. I'm not saying hikki shouldn't do that, but not during this moment. Holding a shaking event makes people feel that she's desperated to have good sales, which makes her look cheap somehow. Besides, she's one of those who have a huge statue in Japan music industry. How often do you see those mega stars holding shaking hands event in Japan...?

I didn't really think of it that way, I just thought it would be nice for the fans but if it has that kind of stigma attached then maybe she shouldn't...

I totally understand what you mean when you think of handshaking events. Hikki can do that if she's not releasing anything (like... let's say she suddenly do that during her hiatus? ). That will mean she wanna keep in touch with fans. Or, if the album is selling so well (applies to any album including SC2). The general public will not think she is doing that for boosting sales. But at this moment, I dun think it's a really good idea, not at least until the sales are settled down (good or bad sales).

We of course do not think hikki will hold handshaking events for sales, but other people do not think in the same way. I have already seen several posts at JPM laughing at her sales. That's why I dun post any at JPM (not even visiting that site). I only went there these two days because they do have faster news about sales. AHS are much calmer.
