Yeah, I think I have to give up hoping for a miracle in the end. At least she's still topping the chart. But I think I'm more interested on her sales figure than her ranking. She's not ayu, she doesn't need a streak to survive... But she does need higher sales.

I dunno what's going on anymore in Japan .

I'm disappointed with the sales but with how sales are in general in Japan it's not a huge shock. I wanted this to be another million-seller, but that's in the past I guess

Last time HS gave me hope that she could still be at the very top (well yes HS only sold barely over 1 million copies, but it was huge in digital). However, when Goodbye Happiness digital was released, and it didn't top the chart, I had a tiny bad feeling about the sales of SC2. Usually it should be an easy job to see her songs topping the digital chart, but none of her songs are able to do so this time. I was thinking that people choose to buy physical copies this time because it's a best album, but the now outcome is much worse than what I've expected.

BUT I SHOULD NOT BE DEPRESSED! No matter what hikki's music is still fantastic .

Do people usually not shop on this particular holiday? Is the public even aware that the album is out? Or maybe theyre confusing it with the English best of?

I think people (including me) were expecting way too much. This album had no promotion. Honestly, even in her grand finale she's being lazy. She made 5 news songs, only made a video for 1, didn't do anything to promote them (none of the songs has been a hit, whereas her songs are generally HUGE digital stompers), doesn't do anything to promote the album.

There's the stands and posters, yet, but if they appear out of nowhere they won't help either. I think it's reasonable to think this best of might end up selling 500k, which is pretty much all we can expect, considering the complete lack of momentum that's been building up towards it.

And, when put into perspective, 500k is a huge amount that we should be proud of ^^

If she ends up selling 500K, that is still extremely good. Hikki, like Ayu, will sooner or later have a dwindling popularity, they've just been around for a long time, doesn't mean they're unpopular. It just means never acts (like Kana), have taken their top positions.

The Pepsi ads were promotion for the song, and her face on a poster doesn't count as promotion for the album.

I don't know, somehow I think just hanging posters everywhere don't help if people aren't really aware of it. Maybe the promotion was ok, but at the very least it can't have been very effective.

I haven't been following the thread recently but is Can't Wait Til Christmas a cover/sampled a song because I have this weird feeling that I've heard the composition before.
