I remember seeing her in Chicago and her voice was amazing at the venue. I've been a fan of hers for years and never thought I would have the opportunity to see her. I'm grateful for what her music has done for me.

I get that people expect an artist to be on point but when its the voice... You can take care of it and randomly have something go wrong no matter the warm up exercises and such.

Regardless of the matter. You streamed it live. You didn't pay anything for it. Quit whining.

She's just a lot more comfortable in small venues, it's obvious.

Comparing Wild Life to In The Flesh is difficult because they were completely different when you look at the crowd, the venues, her popularity in the country she's in, etc.

But if you compare, you see her stage presence was tons better for In The Flesh. She loved performing it and it was obvious, her vocals were flawless as well. For Wild Life she just seemed a bit nervous and her vocals were not flawless. They were still good don't get me wrong, but she really had some bad moments, there's no denying.

I'm not hating on her I'm just saying what I think. And also that I'm extremely grateful to have seen her live, even more now that I've seen Wild Life because I think when I (and all of you guys who went) saw her, she was at her best.

I noticed she tends to be a bit shy when she performs, idk. It's cute when she does little dances moves, even if it's just moving from side to side . <333

+1. Wild Life was fine for me, but seeing her live in NY and experiencing one of her better shows instead of being on a computer, does make the difference. I'm glad to have had that opportunity.

I only watched about 45 seconds of Goodbye happiness and I was bored and turned it off. But now I have to watch and see how good or bad her voice was.
And I didn't realize people couldn't complain if they didn't actually pay when Utada made the concert available for live streaming, something appreciated since its her last show. I understand if someone ripped a DVD and then complained but really now...do you think that if someone when to in the Flesh and came back and said the vocals sucked that it would be handled any better?

Anyway I didn't see the live because I really don't think Utada is that great of a live performer. I think she's one of those "you have to be there" types which doesn't translate too well at home. But I'm having a hard time believing her vocals were that horrible so I might check this out.

I wanna say we should drop this topic. Loving her live (e.g., me ) or not, people produced too much heat for the last couple of pages. But then... if there's no heated discussion, the thread will cool down. It's lovely to see this thread on the first page of the Artist & Bands forum .

I just think it's amusing that people think she doesn't do any work. I'd rather her take a year break and produce something awesome then put out something every 3 weeks and have the quality deteriorate over time. Keep in mind she actually composes, writes the lyrics to, arranges, & produces her own music, so it's no surprise that it takes longer for her to put out a new piece of work than others.

I don't think releasing, idk, what, two singles a year or SOMETHING on a sort of regular basis for the Japanese music industry won't deteriorate her quality, but I guess it's too much to ask.
