That was more of an effort of AKB -and- AKB's fans. That is a TON of money though.

The article said that the money they announced today, the 6.2 million was donated by the members and there staff, which i started thinking about. is a little under 130,000 USD per person of the main 48...

Together its impressive, and i dont want to say, they should of done more because we are already going back and forth. Its still a private matter. Like religion and politics, lol.

I think people are putting why to much on how much certain people ahve donated... by i guess it can be takin as somewhat of a complement? I mean they expect more out of you because they respect YOU more..

I could just be grasping at straws though...

I think this is precisely why Ayu feels the way she does about donating in the public eye.

I just wish the media would focus on helping people themselves instead of throwing how much celebrities donated towards the relief fund around. It's not really important how much they donated.

It's a rumor that she donated between 50 and 70 million, but no one really knows how much.

I think the fact Ayu has spent days RT all the helpful info she can & will not say how much she has donated shows that she has the kind of heart that probably donated beyond anything AKB48 can afford. Since donations can be made anonymously no one but her will ever know that amount.

The tabloid bashing her had her and many other japanese celebs listed as South Korean celebs and loses all their credibility there. JustGiving was obviously one charity her and Mika John both gave to using there names but obviously not the only one Ayu gave to.

Actually I don't get how all of this should be turn into a competition. This is really, disgusting imo.
I won't give a damn if Ayu has just donated 500 yen instead of over9000 yen, the most important thing is: she helps people as she can.
It's more easy to donate money and then don't care, than spam like a crazy on twitter for trying to help.

It might just be the fact that people need to talk about something else??
Who knows... I agree with you though, it doesnt matter how much someone donates, at least they did.

Not saying Ayu is wrong for not donating more or whatever. But people in the North of Japan need money a lot more than Twitter....

Why do those people had the mood to speak that kind of stupid things while the disaster is still going??!!!!I think they are the selfish ones, the amount of money is not the most point, the point is AYU has been announcing some many things to remind and guide the people to get help, why can't they do the same thing instead of speaking words like idlot?!Really Angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

At time like this also, they can still talk bad about people. I don't even care if Ayu wasn't donate anything, because I know she will still donate something no matter what. It's Ayu by the way.

According to the rankings in just giving, no one ever donated in japan more than what ayu donated.
She can't save the world and she already does enough.

Wow if Namie donated 70 million, I wouldn't even imagine that Ayu's personal fortunate is 70 million so I'm skeptic.

Actually according to Time magazine they estimate her fortune to be around 400 million USD.
So the girl can afford to do a lot more, but im not judging (by the way, i dont know how much Namie makes). I think donation are personal and no one so be saying anything of how much she donated.

If she donated a 1.00 they should just shut up and be thankful she did that. She doesnt have to donate anything, she doesnt have to produce a shirt with all the proceeds to go to charity and she doesnt have to do a concert, if it happens.
