or not nvm. I didn't think the game was released already :/
They basically just replaced her ass lol and whoever they found does not live up. if they used Passion in the game anywhere, idk why they wouldn't put it on the soundtrack. Maybe they didn't this time? But then, why would they say they were going to use it as a theme song? Probably just didn't fit into the 3 discs long tracklist......

I feel hikari and passion both reflected the games they were representing. Passion was strange and unique as was KH2 compared to KH.
I did love Passion and hated KH2 tho. I just wish she'd release a mini album or single or something before he voice totally deteriorates. |

The orchestra version of Hikari is the theme song for Dream Drop Distance? That's what I gathered from YouTube anyway. I'm sure if this is the case it'll be exactly the same for the US release, although it would be cool if they bothered to do an orchestra version of Simple and Clean so US gamers would recognize the melody, but I doubt it.

^^Since when is her voice deteriorating? O.o
I have a feeling we won't hear from her again until late this year or early next year.

Her vocals at the streaming version of Wild Life were... strange (but they were ok during the DVD version). She also reportedly canceled TITO's promotion because of vocal problems, didn't she?
I wouldn't be surprised, at the risk of being stoned to death, Hikki's technique is pretty bad and she seens to be hurting herself on some of her lives... If I'm not wrong she only had proper vocal traning for Hikaru no 5 at Budokan on her entire career, what is crazy even if your parents are musicians... I believe one of the reasons she entered on hiatus was to recover her voice, and hopefully have some more proper vocal lessons... If someone bother looking at the time the streaming was broadcasted, I said this before xD *runs to the hills and hides* |

Seriously her studio music is heaven but lives sound literally like a different person. Who DOESNT think her voice is deteriorating? I will never love another jpop artist more than hikki but her voice will never be the same after UU

Hikki's voice sounded bad in WILD LIFE. Agreed. She screwed up Blue =/
Her live technique is nowhere as bad as she-who-must-not-be-named-for-the-fear-of-being-flamed though..... ![]() |

lol it isn't...but everyone agrees she's bad...'cept the crazies.
I'm still angry at no dream drop distance song...but I guess any possibility would have been crazy.

I actually thought her voice was much better in Wild Life compared to the time between UB --> HS. Her voice was very bad in those tv lives (e.g., Be My Last, Passion, Beautiful World, HEART STATION, etc.). She sounded much better in those songs in the concert. For BLUE, I think that's because it's one of the hardest songs to sing live. She could perform much better in studio because she could re-record the songs million times to the point she thought it's perfect, but I always think her voice was a bit shaky during the higher notes even in the studio version. In Wild Life, she had to use falsetto to sing those parts, and after the mid part, she had to use falsetto for the whole chorus.
Sometimes I do think that she has created too many difficult songs to sing, like she would change from low key to high key in any second. She never sounded perfect in lives, but I really think she hurt her voice so much during UNITED. At least, she still sings better than most of the artists in Japan ![]()

I agree her voice has deteriorated. I read sometime in 2005 that she got terribly sick or smth and thereafter there has been a change in her voice

She had vocal training during the Kingdom Hearts era. Donald Lawrence (Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Mika Nakashima) gave her vocal lessons.

^He lost me at "Mika Nakashima"
![]() That who can't be named loved singing out of her range when she was at her peak (I always wanna punch on the face fans who demand her to sing like that again), but was singing pretty well until her own music got her deaf ![]() But I agree, Hikki sings better than most j-artists live... or at least she did on the past decade, the new generation of idols has a lot of strong live vocalists (Kana Nishino always surprises me)... It seens like Japan is not the land of crappy pop singers anymore xD |

^I totally agree one should not stop taking vocal lessons, but do you have any idea who Don lawrence is? He's one of the most renowned vocal coaches in the rock and pop world. I wouldn't make assumptions.

^Well, from the 4 singers u used as examples, 3 sing out of their ranges using improper technique... And the one who doesn't was taking vocal lessons since she was a child. I can agree this coaching works wonderfully for pop music, as the 4 also sing on a really remarkable way, but their voices health is not being taken in consideration, what is... bad (if he does have anything to do with it, anyway).

Quote:
About Hikki's vocals. She has a ******** of subtle autotuning on her studio recordings, particularily Heart Station and This is the One. But she is not a bad vocalist, she just writes songs that are far too hard for her and usually out of her range. Given easier songs she could be really, really good.

Guys can you post a video here where it is obvious that Hikki's voice has deteriorated? I haven't watched Wild Life yet, and I would like to hear it!

I don't see how her vocals deteriorated so much because I'm not familiar with her old stuff all that much, I always assumed she was always a mediocre to good vocalist with too hard songs(that just get harder and harder as her career progresses...) from her old studio recordings.
