Am I the only one disappointed in the album? I didn't expect it to live up to her Japanese albums, but I didn't expect it to be tzis forgettable either. There's good music on there just...much of the same and nothing that stands out as especially unique or amazing. I guess it's just...mainstream C-Pop...

Im pretty satisfied with her album, but maybe cause my expectations were not high. Im pleasantly surprised she remained 'alan' we know, and Im so happy about the cute song baby baby. Things I hate about this release is the title of the album and the cover. It doesnt even catch an eye, if I didnt know thats alan I would have never being interested just by package of the product. Thankfully booklet is pretty and most of the songs are usable. Maaaybe the sad thing about is I cant rate it among VoE and my life. Those two albums are like heaven on earth and her chinese releases are not comparable, at all, even tho they are enjoyable.

I'm not disappointed because I knew it was going to sound like any other C-Pop album And it sounds a bit better than most C-Pop, so that's good enough this time.

Though if she keeps releasing stuff like this I guess I'll stop buying her Chinese releases.

I was talking about this with a friend actually a while back...and I don't understand why she doesn't release more special epic songs that showcase her voice better.

Maybe she just likes these types of songs? Or maybe they want her to release these things?


I'm not sure, but at least things are never bad and her voice is always totally gorgeous. Could be worse. I still have to get this whole album though.

alan has an amazing voice, but let's face it...it's no use if her composers suck X_X

And I seriously have so many problems with the production of this album! They pay Leslie Kee a good amount of money and only 3 of his shots are in the album. The rest of the booklet pictures has already been released since like 2 months ago. They got Kazuhito Kikuchi to shoot the other pictures...seriously?
And also the album packaging...I believe they got the producer of one of the songs on the album to do the design! The coloring sucks

They got such a horrible arranger for Phoenix and then he also served as a lyricist and producer for other songs? That's just stupid seeing how his lyrics seriously suck

And it's a good thing you guys don't know Chinese because the lyrics in this album are really lackluster.

I really have a beef with her company too. They've been telling us alan has been recording since freakin' last year! Then they said the album will come out in February, March, April, May, June and now the album release date has been changed to 6/30.

They have had multiple promotion events on Weibo and then they haven't done anything with the first event where you posted about your alan collection and you might get an autographed album. I have heard nothing about that event now.

It's important in Cpop for songs to have a high rate of being sung by the general public, but I feel this album didn't fully explore alan's voice. I understand why a lot of Cpop singers have generic, calm songs because some of them really can't sing. However, alan has a great voice, so I really hope they can fully utilize it next time.
The songs, by themselves, are good to me. But everything else can go die in a ditch.

I have the hardest time understanding why it's so difficult to manage and promote a gorgeous girl, with a gorgeous voice, and genuine personality.

Well, at least it looks like she gained new fans with this album.

And oh...It looks like alan's contract with Avex has expired. She had a 5-year contract and it's been 5 years already and looks like Avex didn't renew it with her

We've seen her full potential, they can't hide it from us now lol They better learn to show her full potential in the future, that's why many people like her!

I wouldn't mind if she only sang Tibetan-inspired songs as long as her voice was totally out there. Maybe she could follow Sa Ding Ding's style, I think that would somehow suit her.

But I think she can't be C-Pop with that voice though, her voice is just too good.

Hearing the intro made me totally excited because it's just so Sa Ding Ding! I really hope they can collaborate together.

Sa Ding Ding doesn't go the generic Cpop style and it works for her, so why can't alan's company see they need to stop pushing her on the pop route?
I kinda wish alan would see this since she chose all the demos for the album X_X

I believe alan is too young, I don't believe she's a 100% sure of her artistic direction. She didn't have to worry about that with AVEX, they did it for her. She just had to do what she wanted to do, which was singing, performing.

Many things changed this time I'm sure, so perhaps she has more responsibility than before? I think it's easier when you have a producer who can visualize your persona, voice and potential and write music specially for you, and not get you to choose from a pile of random tunes.

We've seen alan as AVEX portrayed her, writing music for her, making her pvs for her, preparing everything for her so she could lay easily on top of it all and perform from there, but that isn't there anymore now, or it's much different at least.

I think Sa Ding Ding has more experience, and she tried and failed many times until she found where she really belonged in music and where she feels comfortable. I haven't seen alan comfortable yet, which results in her music style changing frequently and we see the people around her trying different things with her talent.

I think Kazuhito Kikuchi really struck genius with Ashita e no Sanka. They couldn't really communicate at first and he only got inspiration for the song after he visited Beauty Valley with alan. I've always felt that alan's Japanese songs just fit her so well, but her Chinese composers seem to be having a hard time.

The only song that really screams "ALAN" to me on this album is Yi Ai Xiang Yi because it was more tailor-made for alan. Anson Hu wrote this song with alan in mind while the other songs...alan just chose out of a pile.

I think her fans just need to choose a side. A lot of fans always say "oh, just stay with your same 'alan' style", but then other fans are saying "go with more catchy songs, so you'll be really popular".
Either alan stays unique or goes mainstream...so she really needs to find a median.

It was easier in Japan because all of her songs were tailor-made just for her, but now...they're not. I'm fine if this album isn't the best thing out there yet, but I hope they really up the standards for the next time. It usually take Cpop artists a year to release another album, so hope she'll spend the time wisely (well she's going to start shooting a movie soon...)

My expectations weren't high, and i like this album, is growing more and more on me.
It's not Voice of EARTH -Episode II-, but is nice.
My favourites are:

^I really LOVED the intro too...I think I had it on repeat more than any other new track

And I was impressed with Phoenix, and I didn't have high expectations either (out of her Chinese stuff, I only end up loving 20%)

Oh gosh, the mini-movie/music video is disappointing...I was totally expecting a happy ending. Oh well, I guess alan is still looking gorgeous.

I'm surprised avex didn't renew her contract, especially since I think her sales were pretty good for a new artist.

Yes, the production is what got me. It was to be expected, of course, but it's just all so...muffled and messy. It's no clear, epic sound, it's just...mushy :/
