I'm quite shocked about this. Dun have any feeling about this, or I should say that I have mixed feeling. To be honest... I rather hope shuya was the one instead of maro . At least shuya is the male version of ayu and they look very good together.

But anywayz all I can say is I dun really care as long as ayu is happy. After all it's her life, not anyone else.

Trick or not, it sure is convenient for her to talk about it now.

Even with some people's points. She's already an anti idol. You know that. In her case, any press IS good press.

Anyway. Her revelations about her personal life are ALWAYS just very convenient.


And. Because Maro is Japanese.


I also wonder what you guys would consider a "successful" PR trick. There's never going to be anything in the world that makes her sell like Namie Amuro or something.

For the record, at the time Namie married/divorced etc, she was at the top of her career and it was done at a time when that sort of thing was more taboo in Japan. Now though it is becoming more accepted.

When you are young and at the top of the industry, secrecy about your private life is paramount. But when you are in your 30s and your popularity is dwindling I think the PR game becomes something else entirely.

And I think the saying, "there is no such thing as bad PR", applies to Japan as well unless it's something illegal of course. At this point in ayu's career, PR is just simply to keep your name out there and on people's minds. Honestly it doesn't really matter if it is good or bad news.

And not to be too cynical but, usually this type of news is fed directly from the record label to the tabloids themselves. Especially since honestly ayu's love life is not what would be selling tabloids today - I doubt they were really out looking for this story.

But still, I wish ayu and maro all the best and I hope that they are happy together.

She is like any other woman on the planet so of course she falls in love!I don`t understand why people always have to make it a bad thing or PR or what ever!And saying it is always when a CD or something comes out is really easy to say as she brings out a CD like every 2 month!Not much free space inbetween don`t you think?
And in a world were singers or actors are followed by cameras everywhere at anytime of course they would find out she has a new love interesst. That doesn`t have anything to do with PR!

I actually don`t think so. They do are together a couple times this year and I thought from already summer if they might be together. She just really don`t like to talk about private life. But what can she do if she is followed everywhere.

The only problem with that argument is, paparazzi doesn't follow her everywhere. Her personal life would be more private if she and her staff didn't get it published in magazines and ask for a cameraman to follow her everywhere to put 100 photos on the internet. That being after she said she's keeping private life seperate from business life and going to keep it private. No one was going to publish anything about this without them seeking the publicity. Which is why I think her private life is private and this is her business life and the stupid publicity stunts that come with working for Avex.

idk I feel that if this was a publicity stunt they would have went the extra mile and actually made the relationship worth talking about/interesting, like hooking her up with someone under 25.

From what I can tell not many people seem to care?? I searched for articles about it on over five jpn news sites and there's basically no comments/reaction from anyone. The most "popular" article about it I found was from Nikkansports and it had 145 tweets...for comparison the number 1 ranked story on Nikkan rn has over 600 tweets. All the other articles generally only had like 10 reactions lol
