I liked it before I went to see the tour, and then seeing the whole album showcased through that concert just sent my love for it through the roof.

I can't wait for y'all to see it...just over a month until it airs on WOWOW!

In fact it never crossed my mind that EX TAPE , HURRICANE & NO ONE ELSE BUT YOU might be leftover tracks from WOML . Even if they were , they will sound out of place in the album should they were included in the prior finalised tracklist

Leftover does not mean that they should be included - it implies that they did not fit the theme, and therfore they sound different. But especially NEBY has a simliar sound to TURN AROUND, HURRICANE would have fitted WOML the most and EX_TAPE also has a similar vibe - yet they are summerish and more light and therefore taken out. And as far as we know Kumi she most likely recorded these songs around the same time.

Moreover, I did not check it, but I bet that at least one of the songs is a demo from the same prdocuers that appear on WOML.

Maybe she said "Oh well i want to do a summer best and these three songs fit" and therfore I aplogize if the term "leftovers" may hurt your little fan-feelings - but these realses are too close to not hear the similiarites.

Given 'Hurricane' was co-written by Phrased Differentlys' Meagan Cottone (Mercedes, Piece In The Puzzle), I wouldn't say it's too big a stretch to imagine that it was in with the demo's Kumi received for the WoML recording sessions. The rest probably as well.
Given Kumi/avex only budgeted 1 day to shoot the videos due to her schedule then it's also not hard to imagine the 3 'new' songs where already recorded during WoML.
Maybe they wouldn't have fit on WoML so where cut but I'd still say that makes them at least 'Walk Of My Life Era' leftovers.

This seems to be a budget release (1 day vid shoot, nice photoshoot but not really expensive/innovative) so I'm not surprised if the new songs are actually 'old' recordings (like, what? 5/6 months). The songs are good enough that it doesn't really bother me if they are left-overs.

You guys have to keep in mind that Kumi is always recording songs, and not all of them are for a specific release...

Brave (from JAPONESQUE) was supposed to be a second a-side for the single stay with me.
CAN WE GO BACK was recorded back in 2008, and was released two years later.
Swallowtail Butterfly was recorded around 2006/2007, when we had rumours about a cover album back then.

I get the feeling SoL songs were recorded during the WoML era, but I think she intended for them to be summer jams that fit the sound she's been going for. I think Kuu wants to make more Western Urban music, which is what she admits to listening to in her spare time. I expect to hear this sound for a long time, even with new recordings.

In other news, I now love WoML. Can't get enough of it!!

Great setlist!

House Party isn't one of my favourites and doesn't sound as 90s as I want it to but "THE ROOF, THE ROOF, THE ROOF IS ON FIRE" always makes me smile!
