She should just take a break from music, from touring, from dating, everything. She hasn't made high quality music in a long time, and there's this sense that she's trapped in a vicious cycle of repetitiveness in her life and music.

Things aren't working for her in her professional life and personal life. She needs a paradigm shift.

I think she needs a break too but to rest her voice/body/mind specially her voice, she sounds good to me but after touring every single year it's obvious her voice is damaged but to say she's not making good music anymore is really unfair, maybe you don't like it, and that's good, everyone has different taste, but to say her quality isn't good anymore is too much.

While I agree to some extent that she's indeed "trapped" in a vicious cycle of repetitiveness, I have to say that some of her late releases were surprisingly good. sixxxxxx and MADE IN JAPAN both had good, solid songs on them, for example. While I don't really like NEXT LEVEL and Party Queen, I also have to admit that they are very different when compared to most of her discography. She had many bad songs in the past, but I think the problem is that people look at her previous albums with a huge nostalgia and that's why they're always going to dislike the newest releases, no matter how good they are.

There's no pleasing her fans, she comes out with some crazy new stuff and her fans scream for nostalgia. She comes out with her signature rock/mid-tempos/ballads and fans scream that she is washed up and out of ideas.

The problem isn't that the new stuff doesn't sound new or that the new stuff doesn't sound like the old stuff. The problem is the new stuff isn't good stuff. And she was sure more consistent with putting out the good stuff before than she is now.

She was a bit lost I think up until 2015 IMO and for reasons that were kind of beyond her control. However, she's doing rather well with A ONE to sixxxxxx and now M(A)DE IN JAPAN. If anything, she's slowly getting back into a groove with releases with more 'Ayu-ish' vibes with each release.

I think her real true fans, myself included, prefer her signature sound and lyrics from A ONE, sixxxxxx and MIJ than new experimental things she tried in the past such as Bold & Delicious or Party Queen. Although I agree some people won't be ever pleased with whatever she releases...

I mean, I agree with you (Party Queen needs to diaf) but that doesn't make us "real true fans" when compared to people that did like those releases.

I wish more people would be accepting of the fact that Ayu means different things to different people. It doesn't make one fan superior to another.

I like when she experiments and I also like when she sticks to her sound. TBH A ONE is among my fave albums.
