She's a shareholder in SM Entertainment now. So she performs in SM Town to support her company. She needs to protect her investment/shares.

Once a year or so she releases a new song in Japan probably just to keep Avex happy. The bare minimum.

Now she can do acting or anything she likes. Even if it flops she's still rich.
Ok. I didn't knew that much about her korean career except that her CDs haven't sold that much (Compared to her japanese discography). If she wins by CF's and stuff then she's fine.

I'm laughing about she is not rich as well. I mean..like seriously? She is one of the most successful KPOP star..she is wealthy enough for not working anymore..

I would say Boa is plenty wealthy. She's been making pop superstar money for over a decade now.
I think the reason she is not as active in Japan is because the Identity album wasn't as popular as her previous releases and also because she wanted to be a part of the Kpop boom that was growing quickly earlier in this decade while Jpop was falling out of favor.

God, I'd love for her to do a stream live like that. Even for a special event just for fans or a reminder to everyone that she's still one of the best around.

One of my favorite concerts of hers (or maybe from any of my favs) is BoA THE LIVE 2006 because it's not overly flashy, its live music, live vocals, live backup vocals, live freaking everything. I loved the setlist, the lighting, not to mention how freaking on-par her vocals were. (and that Moon and Sunrise performance are you freaking kidding me? ) I mean, I know she did several other 'The Live's' like that but the 2006 one still slays me each time.

If any of y'all want to watch that concert (if you haven't or just want to reminisce with me) here's a link:

It's hard for me to believe that she slowed down in Japan solely because of "Identity" not doing so well.

I mean, every artist has 1 or more CDs that do badly. Heck, if Ayu got discouraged by CD sales then her career would be loooong over.

Also, for me "Identity" was one of her best albums. Maybe the songs aren't as catchy, but I found them to be very high quality.

And her Identity tour? So much goodness there.

How could she want to go back to Korea where it's so freaking hard for solo artists, where Kpop groups dominate, where it's hard for her to do solo concerts?

And I do love the 2006 live. She looked so pretty and energetic. And her vocals on point!

I'm really glad she's taking time to enjoy herself. Gurl has been working nonstop since she was 13, so I'm happy she's playing golf and acting. Music will come again when it's time.

I'm also really looing forward watching Autumm Post Office, does anyone know when It'll be available?

to the bolded part.

And I really wish I liked the Identity tour but I just don't. I was one of the people who thought the album for it was very weak and, in turn, already judged the concert before even watching it. (I know that's wrong. I totally shouldn't do that.) I liked The End そして And... but I feel it draws on a little bit too much. Possibility was all right. Not good. Not bad. Catchy, that's for sure. But that's it for me. But then again, I also really liked her english album 'BoA' and, if I remember that wasn't too favored by fans, or at least the fans I've spoken with. The lyrics are awful "I'll eat you up, yum, yum" but damn if I don't still dance to those tracks. xD

However, she's gotten much better at making her own music since then. It's been really nice watching her grow as a producer/lyricist (Clockwork ). I just wish she would release more stuff so we could enjoy it!!

Seriously?
It's her home country.
And she still doesn't have any problems with solo concerts there. Her anniversary concert was a success.

She doesn't have to release music nonstop like she used to, she's proven herself through her hard work all these years. She may as well take as many breaks as she wants and enjoy her bank account. To think she still has to work for money is absolutely nonsense. If she hasn't retired yet is because she still wants to do music.

Well, she does really well in Korea. As Corvina said, she's really respected over there, she has a total freedom to do whatever she wants musically and she has really good sales. Watch the interview of any girlband out there and there'll always be one member that's inspired by BoA.

It's okay. A nice listening but nothing all that exciting. Better than I'd thought it'd be though

BoA, is planning a return to the South Korean pop music scene. She will release a mini Album in the next few weeks!

“We are preparing for a new album, but the comeback date is undecided. It is unlikely that she will be returning in February,” the label confirmed in a statement.

I'm so excited for her comeback. If the mini-album is anything as good as Kiss My Lips, I'm gonna love it.

Already anticipating this mini, like crazy.

It also looks like BoA's in a relationship! The actor's agency confirmed it.
