TOUGH will be Mika's 1st album since 2013's REAL

The new album will include 14 songs . For the DVD , it will include footages from THE ACOUSTIC 2016～MIKA NAKASHIMA 1st Premium Tour～ that took place at NHK Hall Live

CD + DVD will include a photobook too

Also , Koi wo Suru & TOUGH W Buyer Limited Special Event will take place end of April somewhere in Tokyo

I'm not expecting a lot of new songs in TOUGH especially since the last single included in REAL was Hatsukoi

Singles wise , TOUGH should be including :

Forget Me Not
Koi wo Suru

And since Mika has a habit of including B-sides in her past albums , I say at most there might only be 4 new album tracks at max ?

Nakashima Mika to release new album after over 4 years

Nakashima Mika will release a new album, titled "TOUGH", on March 22.

This marks the singer's first album since "REAL" was released over 4 years ago in January of 2013. It will consist of 14 songs including her already released singles. The album will be available in both limited and regular editions, and the limited edition will come with a DVD containing footage of her acoustic tour "THE ACOUSTIC 2016～MIKA NAKASHIMA 1st Premium Tour～" as well as a photo book.

In other news, Nakashima will be holding a release event for her single "Koi wo Suru" (out February 22) in late-April. At the event, the singer will show her treasured footage, and she will share some stories about the single.

She might not include that SALU featuring and Alone, but wouldn't be surprised if she includes them... Same goes for Fighter.
I'm pretty sure she'll include GIFT, as she tends to sing it in concerts a lot... But we'll see. So we would get from 1 to 5 new songs? 5 would be nice, but a Mika Nakashima fan can dream...

I don't think Fighter / GIFT and Alone will be on the album. Maybe MIKA's solo version of Fighter, but I doubt she'll put it on the album. Miliyah would have been pressured to put it on LIBERTY if they had any intention of it being on an album. Alone already went on SONGBOOK. I think it was intended to be exclusive to that release. I could be wrong though. She did put GAME on STAR.

Also, I don't think all of the b-sides from the singles will be on TOUGH. MIKA usually releases at least a handful of new songs with each album. I doubt she'll pull a BoA and do nothing but single tracks, especially with all the BEST collections she's done since REAL.

That said, I think we can reasonably expect 3 or 4 new songs. Take off Fighter, GIFT, and Alone, and add four new songs, and I think we have the new album. It's also important to point out that MIKA's last three albums have had a title track. (Koe for VOICE, LONELY STAR for STAR, and BE REAL on REAL), so we will most likely have a TOUGH title track.

I really hope she puts Birukaze and Ai no Uta on the album.

Most of these songs are ballads / ballad-like, so I don't think we'll get more ballads from her. I think the new songs will probably be along the lines of LOVE IS ECSTACY / Koi wo Suru and No Answer / LONELY STAR / CANDY GIRL etc. because she usually balances out her albums based on the singles. (i.e., STAR had a lot of ballad songs from singles, and most of the new tracks were upbeat; REAL had a lot of new midtempo/slower/BE REAL songs because the single songs were pretty mixed). And we've had A LOT of slower / midtempo songs from the singles. Koi wo Suru is the first upbeat song from any of the singles.

I'm not sure how I feel about the title. All her other titles are really soft. Maybe this album is making a statement about her return to music after the serious issues with her voice. Either way, I'm excited for TOUGH. I love that Boku ga, Ai no Uta, and Birukaze are all likely going to be together on an album... reminds me of how happy I was to see STAR with Over Load, No Answer, and Nagareboshi on the track list.

I think we're in for a really good album!!!

EDIT: MIKA, PLEASE GIVE US A REGGAE TRACK A-LA Eien no Uta, Ichiban (Reggae Disco Rockers)!!! PLEEEASE! JUST ONE...!

Alone shouldn't be included but you never know...
The rest of the songs will most likely, she has always included b-sides on her albums, so it would be odd she didn't all of a sudden. Unless she judges them too old/dated?
