KinKi Kids' Domoto Tsuyoshi Returns To The Stage After 4 Month Hiatus

KinKi Kids member Domoto Tsuyoshi has returned the stage to perform for the first time in 4 months.

The idol was hospitalised in June 2017 after experiencing sudden deafness in his left ear. Since then, Tsuyoshi has been unable to perform at concerts or participate in group activities.

On October 29, KinKi Kids participated in the music festival "TV Asahi Dream Festival 2017". The audience was surprised when both members of the group came out for the performance.

Tsuyoshi appeared on stage wearing a hat and headphones on over top. The sound in the left ear was not on during the performance.

"When you become hard of hearing, your other sense compensate for the loss of hearing. It can actually get pretty tiring. I was hesitant about coming on stage...but my doctor told me that getting back into the motion of my music activities would be good for me," Tsuyoshi told the audience.

KinKi Kids performed an 8-song set for its concert at the festival. A 6 hour broadcast of the festival will air in January.

KinKi Kids to release 20th anniversary best-of album

KinKi Kids' 20th anniversary best-of album "The BEST" will be released on December 6.

This is a best-of album including remastered versions of all 45 of the duo's singles. The Limited Edition DVD & Blu-ray will contain a digest footage from their 20th anniversary event "KinKi Kids Party! ~Arigatou 20-nen~", which was held this past July at Yokohama Stadium. Furthermore, the Regular Edition will come with two bonus tracks; one of which is a ballad song called "Next to you" written by Miyazawa Kazufumi (ex. THE BOOM).

Domoto Tsuyoshi returns to stage, KinKi Kids to release best album on December 6



Kinki Kids appeared as the closing act of the music festival “TV Asahi Dream Festival 2017” held last October 29 at the Saitama Super Arena. Domoto Tsuyoshi, who had to pause music activities since June due to sudden deafness, makes a return to the stage via the festival.

Tsuyoshi appeared wearing a hat and headphones on top. During MC, Koichi talks of Tsuyoshi’s sudden deafness and Tsuyoshi revealed that the sound on his left ear is turned off. The music performance was done unplugged. Tsuyoshi explained that at first, his ears will also hurt when he’s out at restaurants.

“When you have difficulty in hearing, your other senses compensate for the loss in hearing. It can be a bit tiring. Coming back to the stage..the doctor told me that getting back into the motion of my music activities will be good for me.”
During the festival, the duo also announced that they will be releasing a best-of album which includes a complete selection of all 45 of the group’s singles! All songs have been remastered, and the regular edition includes 2 bonus tracks as well. KinKi Kids “The BEST” album will be released on December 6.
