Tsutsugo Yoshitomo who plays for the Yokohama DeNA Baystars baseball team befriended BENI last year via a mutual acquaintance & Tsutsugo is the 1 that requested BENI to write a song for the baseball team he plays for

Finally some new BENI material , she will be releasing 4 songs digitally within the next 4 months starting from July til Oct



For starters , new song Chasin' feat. IO will be released digitally on 6th July and this song is described as a Jazz R&B no.

KANDYTOWN's IO is featured in Chasin' and KANDYTOWN's Neetz had a hand in producing Chasin'

I'm always really confused about BENI's marketing strategies. She releases singles and albums whenever she feels like without warning and tours like there's no tomorrow barely changing the setlists from one tour to another.

I wonder if it works for her

My feeling is that after BENI released BEST All Singles & Covers Hits , she probably signed another contract that was handled by another sub record label that Universal manages

I do admit that BENI's releases & her tour schedules have been quite unpredictable from Forever onwards . If not why up to now BENI didn't released another concept season theme EP after 2016's Shiki Uta summer

Shiki Uta summer EP didn't sell well which was a shame as I like the concept of it as it was something different

The up side is that at least for BENI's videos that're uploaded on YouTube and also her physical releases , there's no region code to worry about

I stopped listening to her stuff after Red, but this project of releasing a digital single per month could be interesting. I'm definitely going to check it out. Also, that cover for Chasin' is amazing.

BENI to release a new song for 4 consecutive months

BENI will digitally release a new song for four consecutive months from July to October. The first song will be titled "Chasin' feat. IO" will be released on July 6.

This will be BENI's first release in over a year. It's a jazzy R&B number featuring KANDYTOWN's IO and arranged by KANDYTOWN's Neetz.

On the song, the singer commented, "People are always chasing after something whether it's love or something else. The song and lyrics portray the sadness and impatience upon nearing that thing you're chasing, the excitement and expectation you get the moment you're about to obtain it, and the feeling of emptiness when you realise that the game is over once you finally have it in your hands."

Chasin' is alright but I'm not a fan of IO's vocals :s

Another thing about Chasin' is that the song gets quite repetitive after a while while some might not like it as it's quite slow sounding , I'm fine with this though
