Hi, Sorry I'm new to Mika, Darling in the Franxx introduced me to her. I got totally hooked on Kiss of Death. I've read through this thread trying to get some idea of which of her other music might be her best stuff. Any suggestions please? Similar style to Kiss of Death I guess, powerful, haunting, emotional....

If you like Mika's rock driven songs , THE END EP is worth checking out , it's still 1 of my favourite releases of Mika as before that , I wouldn't have thought she would sound good doing rock music

I listened to hyde's rendition of KISS OF DEATH earlier on

Personally I think Mika's take on the song is still better . Somehow I don't like the way hyde sings for his & I thought the melody would be the same but he changed it up a bit

Would totally recommend tracks like Eien no Uta and Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo (Reggae Disco Rockers Remix) as well. MIKA has done the typical rock/pop/ballad stuff, but she's also among my favorite Japanese reggae singers. I can't stand the genre apart from its rhythm, but MIKA really nails this style.

For yet something also radically different in MIKA's discography: Songs like LEGEND, Oborozukiyo ~Inori, Kumo no Ito, and Birukaze Swimming School show off MIKA's extremely melodic and experiential style. Every now and then, a MIKA track comes out that isn't a rock/pop/ballad/funk/reggae song -- it's a unique, cinematic, almost surreal experience that fully transports you into space for a few minutes. These are all more poignantly produced, carefully constructed songs that really do something unique for a major label artist's releases.

Love all these songs you listed. I always think Kumo no Ito is quite underrated. Legend was my first Mika song and CD (nostalgia!). The CD cover and PV are gorgeous.

I also love Legend and my other favourite is Glamorous Sky. It sounds like it could have been released yesterday.
