i don't like aiko's skin that much... lol. No offense, but her skin doesn't look any special. lol. i think award is pretty weird, but yay ayu?

Well, I do agree that Ayu has BEST SKIN! Skin is a BIG thing in Japan .. believe it or not

I think skin is BIG everywhere. It keeps your inners in.

Man, I'm gonna strongly disagree with BoA having good skin. Anybody who have watched her live performances will notice that her skin looks ****** even with tonnes of make up on.

I'm just wondering why Namie Amuro is not on, I've never seen her with a pimple. Utada has nice skin too!

Is this poll even fair..looks like it's based on popularity

Comment about the non-tanned people: in the past, the people that had tans were only the people who worked in the fields or on a boat or outside in general (also known as the poorer people). thats why the royalty was always light skinned, as a sign of wealth and power becuz they didnt have to do it themselves... <-- lol, got carried away with myself

but im glad to see ayu is number 2!!! and im also glad to see that some of the "newer" people that i dont really care for arent up there! hehe

White skin was the big thing in europe too, untill it became fashionable for the rich and upper class to go to the french riviera and other such places in the end of the 19th century. Only the rich had the means and time to go there and in order to show off the tanned skin became important.
Before that tanned/dark skin was associated with the working class and farmers because they got dirty from working and from working outside.

I seriously don't think Ayu should be #2. There has to be hundreds of lesser known artists with flawless skin compared to her. This is all about popularity (duh).

Ah, leave Gackt alone. Not everyone can have perfect skin all the time. But it's interesting to see that Gackt is not flawless.

I agree, it made me feel a lot better about myself. Large pores + caramel skin = not good.

I have to read through the page, because I don't know how they actually did the award. Was it by popularity? By the clarity of the skin, pimples, pores, etc?

I doubt it's really an 'award'. Looks like an Oricon user poll (like the polls we have at AHS) had a tie-up with one of their advertisers. Not really news-worthy.
