didnt c this earlier, but we only get to see a part of oricon's singles+albums chart, in fact top 30. but, really oricon's chart goes all the way to top 300. so A BALLADS was probably on the top 300 for a while, thus oricon counted its' sales and declared it a million seller.

Even if Ayu's sales decrease from time to time, do remember everyone elses are the same. I havent seen a kumi single outselling an Ayu single..

She'll always be number 1, in other words.

^actually she has. ku's real Emotion/1000 no Kotoba; has sold more than Daybreak;Bold & Delicious and forgiveness. ku also has some other singles that sold more than some ayu ones. same thing goes for otsuka ai as well.

Ayu can sell 300,000 consistantly for her singles. However, even with the popularity Kumi is enjoying now, her singles' sales doesn't seem to be able to get over the 200,000 mark. Therefore, Ayu can definitely sell more than Kumi!

you outsold Daybreak and Bold&Delicious/Pride+some of ayu older singles.
LOVE & HONEY outsold Bold&Delicious+some of ayu older singles.
there are some other singles that sold some of ayu older singles.
yes, i no that i am comparing it with 'older' singles, but thats still selling more rite? and to say this again, im just saying its not entirely true to say that 'no ku single has ever outsold an ayu single'

well, if you compare kumi's best selling singles to ayu's worst selling singles, then yes, some of kumi's singles outsold ayu's.

Unless you want to compare sales of Poker Face with Real Emotion, then I dunno..
And Real Emotion only sold decently because of the Final Fantasy tag attached to it. And even by decent I mean 250 000 copies. Almost everything Ayu has sold more than 300 000 copies. If Ayu sang a Final Fantasy song, I don't doubt sales off more than 500 000 to 1 million copies for the single.

Good Point there. Most FF songs sell really well just because the series is huge in Japan.

It's true in a sense, but it would be better if various factors is considered (proximity of the release date of her upcoming album in B&D's case). It will be fairer to both parties and enable us to make a better comparison

You outsold B&D? Wow.. Ok.. Weird.. Kumi must be happy.. Its her highest selling single after Real Emotion right?

But I did realize that Kumi sells very very low. Ai Otsuka does a lot better. Puzzling that Avex is investing in Kumi instead of Otsuka lately.

i was wondering that also lol their profits could had been bigger if they had just pick Ai lol cause other than "Best of things" the 12 single thing arent really big for the big promotion its getting in my opinion and i doubt the same Trick will work again with the secon season Best album its to soon to try it again

if you add it all you have 1million, now why did i bring this up? i just think it was a waste "12 single koda kumi" cause i can bet it prob didnt even break 800,000 while having all 12 singles put together.correct me if i'm wrong but why limited some singles when its getting a huge campaign/Promotion ? i just think if Ai was the one in the place of kumi she could had sold 1.5 million with 12 singles put together if not 2million.. but i guess kumi was chosen for some reason if not avex is being run by idiots
