I once read that in the case of "Memorial address" ayu wanted her fans to LISTEN to the song. Maybe she wanted the listener to feel the meaning rather than just read it. And I think it's very likely the same with "Present" and "ever free".
In the case of "flower garden": It's a secret track, so it's natural that the lyrics weren't printed in the "I am..." booklet. But as far as I know the whole lyrics were published in the "ARENA TOUR 2002 A"(?) booklet...

I'm guessing that the lyrics were at one time, meant to be 'secret' but after a while, it sort of just fizzled out so if the songs are ever performed in concert, the lyrics are there in the DVD booklet..

Example. Look at Memorial address' D:

I remember asking my Japanese teacher in first year about the little blurb for memorial address. She said that it gave her the impression of "the subject of the lyrics are too personal." I think, to Ayu, that writing the lyrics down in a fancy booklet might impersonalize or invalidate the feelings in the song.

And with flower garden and such, they were hidden tracks on the album, and hidden tracks never have lyrics in books.

It would be cool if they did, though. What if you didn't have the Internet or anything, and you get, say, the I am... album, and you're listening to the full album, and reading the lyrics from the book... and all of a sudden, after the end song, some awesome tune comes on, and you really want to know the lyrics! ;_; Ayu and/or her lyric publishers are so evil!

How is that evil?

You're not supposed to know that the song is there! Plus, Ayu's CDs aren't exactly marketed towards those who don't know Japanese.. :p

For a little more confirmation:
Quote:
The pop-melody characteristic of [ANGEL'S SONG], the painful awakening of one's love sung about in [Because of you], and in addition, [Memorial Address], recorded by a live band, those three songs. All of them are good songs, huh? By the way, the bonus track [Memorial Address], for which the album is named, is different from the other seven songs: the lyrics were not included. There was a thought behind it, wasn't there?

a: When I decided, "The mini-album=This year's self," the thing that became my base was this [Memorial Address.] So for a title, I thought, this would be a good one. However, in regard to this song, I hadn't planned to explain much but first let people listen. By listening completely, I think that what I was thinking when I wrote this will be understood. Even without publishing the lyrics, more than writing them down (and more than seeing them), without being told anything, I want people to listen. And to feel
