Well, it sounds like some of Ayu are finding reasons to validate Ayu's decisions and sales and status. And dismiss Kumi's sales because she isn't "talented". Kind of like Realpolitics or however it's spelled.

*Free & Easy sounds so damn awesome, I have to add this*

Um, if this is directed toward me, why don't you just say so? I apologize if it isn't.

I never said Koda Kumi wasn't talented. I was arguing about how she hasn't made the same sales impact as the idols that came before her (Ayu, Hikki, Namie) i.e. in both single and album sales.

I personally won't get into a debate about Ayu vs. Kumi, because I think it's a waste of time. Needless to say, I like some of Koda Kumi's songs, but there is a lot I don't like. Among her new, non-12-weeks-of-Christmas songs, I only like I'll Be There.

I'll disagree about Dearest and No More Words.

I like both songs Dearest, I think, is essential Ayu. And No More Words is one of the best Ayu songs I've ever heard.

Wasn't it realpolitik XD Anyways, I think that the sales of KK are being dismissed due to the quick-fashion-thing-rate that they increased at. Ayu sort of steadily climbed from 40k onward, whereas it was sort of KK's 20k or w/e and 90k with a first album that kinda just busteddd.

Where would her sales be without the 2nd session / 12 singles? :/ That's a question that can only be asked, not answered T__T

I guess it's because she seems like her whole 'omg big sales' thing is based on gimmicks and image..

Gimmicks is also promotion, only not as nice sounding. So Kumi had good promotion. Ok, Ayu and Mika pwns in quality though.

No, cause gimmicks require the purchase of the actual item.. XD

So technically, can it really be called promotion if you have to buy it first..? o_o;

Well, anything outrageous is also a gimmick, like the 12 singles every week thingy.

Maybe a subliminal message in the song? :p I mean, is Koi no Tsubomi really 2million+ download material?

OH GOD YES. Did you listen to it?! The "A Cup Of Milk Tea" version alone makes the single oh so worthy of purchase. It's one of those super addictive songs you can never grow tired off.

Kinda like Utada's Keep Tryin' and her 3 million downloads.

Want a refresh? I can upload the song?! WANT IT?!! *obsessive Koda mode*

If it wasn't for that song, I wouldn't even bother defending her, seriously.

So, how about thems Ayu sales? :p

With the current trend. I see her selling even more than 254k with her next single! D: D:!!

[and no. It's been 3-4 years since I first saw KK and even then I preferred Jade to her LOL]

Agh, the horrid Jade. Her voice is good. BUT SHE DOES. NOT. KNOW. HOW. TO. SING. Seriously. Her songs come across as hilarious, mediocre or murderous.

Ayu takes her songs and make it GOLD.

Yeah, Ayu's next single will be a 300k for sure. And Kumi's a 200k.

Oh, her best songs. Yeah, she did those pretty awesomely. Koda's english was "ZOMGWTFISTHISNASTEH*****" but her Japanese version was very good. Jade's Real Emotion is best though.
