I think ayu should use the full weight of AVEX. Her dancers, whatever happens to them, reflects ayu, so if they where approached and asked to do a "special private photo shoot for her birthday", then find out that you were lied too and find that they have gone public, even by a law standing Leslie has done a very shady thing. The dances involved who feel damage could also file a case against Leslie, but he will probably run back to Hong Kong. But this would once again make more some type of bad press towards ayu, since the tabloids love to make up stuff so much. But as the law is concerned, her dancers would have to prove they were lied too about the intended use of the photos. But if Leslie made them sign a contract, then he might of done more shady business and hid in the contract that he could use them for whatever. I'm pretty sure even this law would still apply for an agreement in Japan too. Verbal and Written contracts have pretty much the same rules in most countries

I kind of feel bad about this...could anybody summarize in quick words what's been going on? I haven't been paying much attention to Ayu as much as, say, several years ago, primarily because of her age and my focus on other artists...

Yeah, I don't understand exactly the lesson that was to be learned with the first photobook.

That was a decision between Leslie AND Mannie about something they were both involved in.

They thought it meant something because he is a supposed friend of Ayu's...And you'd think well a friend would be very respectful and wouldn't do anything of that sort..

ANd to be honest i don't think he's ever had this very genuine friendship going on from his side, he just sort of saw the possible profit to make out of Ayu, so why not to keep that going while u can make money out of it?

Sorry, but imo, regardless if Mannie decided to sell his photobook with signed copies, her dancers should have still been more wary about doing the exact same thing since it obviously didn't end well the last time. Additionally, I do recall that Leslie was selling Super Mannie himself in the gay district. So, obviously he has no issues selling things that are supposed to be a surprise. And the argument that Mannie did it first doesn't fly with me. I'm sorry, but to me its just common sense.

Where was it confirmed that Mannie agreed for it to be sold exactly? All I remember is that pic Leslie tweeted to Ayu on Twitter with them holding the book and it said "surprise" and shit.

Well, apparently he was selling signed copies on eBay himself. I don't really mind about that though. If Mannie was okay with it being sold, that was his decision and he obviously took the fallout from that. He is a model, after all...I'm more bothered that the dancers had no idea this would happen and found out from the photographs being publicly shown without permission for profit.

I agree with what others have said though - perhaps they'll think through their birthday/anniversary gifts a little more next time.

Misa-chan shared an easy tutorial on how to join TA for international fans before.
Thanks to that, I've been a member since 2010 and got my TA ticket for A BEST LIVE this year. I'm neither rich nor Japanese.
Comparing with the memories and encouragement ayu has brought me, the $60 I have been paying, which is even lower than a DVD or Blu-ray, is really unworthy of being mentioned.

If you want to and you think you can afford to pay the $60 every year, then join TA; If you can't afford, then don't waste money on that.
It's totally ok, because everyone has his or her own way to support an idol. No one can make any judgments of the way you love someone.
Besides, ayu does love all of her fans whether or not they are TA.
The existence of TA is to separate fans from public media, not to separate faithful/rich fans from normal/poor fans.

There is absolutely no need to blame the membership system just because you are unwillingly to pay the fees(no matter for what kind of reasons).
Nothing in the world can be taken for granted.

The thing is, Leslie has sold every single one of his photobooks on gay stores in Japan, what made they think he wouldn't turn on them? I feel bad for them and bad for Ayu, but they were really ignorant about the whole situation.

Haha! Sometimes I do wonder why do you wanna pose semi-nude for your colleague's birthday? Such a stupid idea IMO... And why the hell would someone wanna recieve a album of nude pictures of friends and colleagues? I wouldn't see that as a surprise, I will get freaked out or even have a nightmare... Lol.. People! Just imagine yourself receiving such a photobook ( nude photos of your colleagues, managers, supervisors, directors etc etc)... People who you see everyday and regarding formal issues ...

Although I've already commented that perhaps this sort of gift wasn't the best idea, we have to remember that being part of Ayu's staff team probably isn't comparable to your general 9-5 office job and they seem very open and into being 'artistic' with each other. I can imagine Ayu, who seems to put a lot of investment into art, would have found the gift both something personal to her tastes and also something amusing. When you work in the entertainment industry, what becomes acceptable really depends on what your boss/manager is like. Ayu is pretty quirky

i don't think a phptobook was a bad idea, the way it was done was maybe the odd way, i mean what does it have to do with Ayu at all lol it's just a random photoshoot with excuse do to it... I mean Ayu many times have said that her staff/dancers is like a family to her, so it's not exactly people you just do the job with and that's where it ends. They enjoy hanging around, she attends the events they have just to support them. If you look at it as just a job bunch, then yes it would be extreamelly bizarre, but when you know the people close enough to call them a family, it's the whole different story.

Is it really weird? Maybe it is - if you believe that everything that Ayu writes in her entries is the whole true story. But maybe, just maybe it is only Ayu's truth, or even the truth that avex wants her to publish. Yes, I'm repeating myself here, but I don't think this story is as simple as evil Leslie Kee/ good Ayumi Hamasaki. The dancers may have another version of the story, and maybe Leslie himself sees things a bit differently, too.

This drama is so strange, I just want it to stop.
